So their real numbers are worse?
More than likely.

They intentionally alter them to make them look better, despite the fact that their numbers already look bad.

At the same time, the info that rates of infection and deaths are all decreasing in China are most likely fabricated.

Why do you trust anything coming from them?

They are now saying the USA did this. Do you trust that too?

They have no reason to be honest with anyone.

The CCP controls all news and all discussion.

Right, so you are saying the mortality rate is actually worse than the 4% they are reporting?

It just seems like you are contradicting yourself.

on one hand you are saying... China lies about their numbers (We are assuming they make them look better). Their numbers say mortality rate of 4%

on the other hand you say that the likely mortality rate is 0.1%

I'm not trying to argue about the mortality rate, I'm just trying to point out the obvious contradiction in your thoughts.

*sigh*

China is an outlier.

Just like Iran and Italy are outliers.

The fact that there are outliers that make things appear significantly worse does not make my position hypocritical.

Again, is this the only situation where you trust Chinese information?

Why?

Mob mentality and absolute faith in authority scare me more than the virus.

The mob mentality is fascinating to watch unfold though.

The mob mentality is bad, but I'm not quite sure how the average citizen is supposed to pull themselves by their bootstraps and solve a pandemic. I don't think it's too NEW WORLD ORDERish to expect the government perform some function on that end.

It's incredibly fascinating. I was amazed at how there were unfounded reports about a toilet paper shortage which led to mass hysteria and an actual toilet paper shortage.

fricking toilet paper.

Do you have a timeline or something to back this up?

If the Chinese manipulate data they would make it look better not worse, right? So why do they put out numbers that show a 4% mortality rate?

Are countries on the other end of the spectrum also outliers?

A more realistic view comes from S. Korea who was one of the countries hardest hit by the virus. They are testing 15,000 a day, and have tested more than 200,000 people total. As the number of confirmed cases arises, the rate of mortality decreases.

quote:

South Korea confirmed 110 more cases of the COVID-19 compared to 24 hours ago as of midnight Friday local time, raising the total number of infections to 7,979.

One more death was reported, lifting the death toll to 67. The total fatality rate stood at 0.84 percent.

S.Korea's COVID-19 cases rise to 7,979, death toll at 67

Why is the US so far behind on testing? Is it on purpose? Is there a problem?

Only thing I can think of is they are fudging their infected number to make it seem like they have control of the thing and that is making their mortality rate look worse than it actually is.

I paid attention as it started on social media, spread to actual media and now people are hoarding it like it's gold.

Do I have a link that walks down the details of a toilet paper shortage for you? No, I don't.

So you assert that no one was buying TP in bulk when the first reports happened?
