@PDChina · 5m Chinese health authorities announced Sunday that 1,975 confirmed cases of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), including 324 in critical conditions and 56 deaths, had been reported in the country by the end of Saturday.
That's an interesting number regarding the level of morbidity. One sixth of confirmed cases are in critical condition. There's possibly bias in the number due to sicker patients seeking treatment and being confirmed as coronavirus. But, at the same time, due to the scare more people are probably coming forward with mild symptoms too.

So if the numbers out of China are accurate... 1975 cases and 55 deaths that’s is an insane mortality rate. That comes here and everyone will know someone that dies of this....

The icu morbidity is concerning.
15% “critical”. That’s high.

Are you sure it’s appropriate to use reported cases in your calculation? How many people have it but didn’t report to be tested

I’m at a loss for words after watching that

2.84% mortality rate.
I’m not worried about me.. I’m middle aged and very healthy. From reading, it sounds like the elderly and young are the ones most susceptible to dying from this.
More concerned about transferring to others.

How many people died, but not from "Corona" and instead died of pneumonia before knowing? China and quite a few others have known about this for a month. Think how busy they are and avg 500 the last two days. Doctors are dying and getting sick. How many people were seen that may have not had it and now exposed.

You work with the information you have. It is probably skewed for now

Imagine what is going to happen when this hits India. Pretty much the same conditions as in China and with another billion plus population.

Put it through an image translator. The second line says "STOP IT!!". The third line says "STERILIZE! ISOLATE!".

Well yeah, there is no real treatment, just supportive care if you are really bad off

Nah, it’s transferred through respiratory droplets not fecal matter
