You have to wonder if people realize the Chinese govt just sentenced a Chinese citizen studying in the US to 6 months in prison for talking shite about Xi on Twitter.

I can’t see any other shadows in the photo which makes me think the darkness is a material substance. I really need to find a distraction, I’m going to visit my in-laws.

Sounds about right. Everything I have read has pointed to Xi and the CCP becoming more and more autocratic since the Beijing Olympics. The SerpentZA YouTube guys chronicle it and say the anti western attitude has grown more acute the past 5 years.

During grad school I spent 3 weeks in McLeod-ganj India, home to the Tibetan govt in exile. During that time I was paired up with a Chinese exchange student who was Tibetan. He told me about China. Real China. He told me how much he loved the USA. He told me the USA was the only hope for Tibetan freedom. He would try to contact me after my brief stay, asking for help, but I was a broke grad student and couldn’t imagine being able to provide any real help. I’m haunted by it now.

There is a doctor heading to Wuhan now to test a new antiviral that they think will work on Coronavirus. Apparently they have been working on this for awhile and found two promising compounds in 2017

Rolf Hilgenfeld, who is based at the University of Lübeck in Germany, has been trying to develop a cure for coronaviruses since the 2002–03 outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). Hilgenfeld is hoping to get into Wuhan in central China, to work with researchers there to test two compounds in animals infected with the new, related coronavirus, which emerged in the city late last year. The early-stage drug candidates are not ready for use in people, but Hilgenfeld wants to start animal testing with the aim of developing treatments for future coronavirus outbreaks.

A new antiviral drug candidate inhibits a broad range of coronaviruses, including the SARS and MERS coronaviruses, a multi-institutional team of investigators reports this week in Science Translational Medicine. The findings support further development of the drug candidate for treating and preventing current coronavirus infections and potential future epidemic outbreaks.

Are there no Chinese baws driving lifted diesels with panda nuts hanging off the bumper?
They'd go right over those dirt piles.
