Don’t go to the doctor for every sniffle and sneeze, take care of yourself at home if you are well. There is nothing they can do for you if you have coronavirus and don’t have breathing difficulties. Don’t go in public if you are sick.

It’s the result of a lack of testing. If we had adequate community testing these cities would be more confident that their ERs aren’t about to be overrun, until then they are bracing for an influx of cases and trying to mitigate that.
These statements are a bit contradictory, no? How do you expect people to get tested if they don’t go to the doctor?

There is no lack of testing. This is just a lie. There is a surplus of tests kits and anyone whose doctor says they need a test has easy access to a test.
Yeah this isn't true. We have a superintendent who has been exhibiting flu like symptoms for days, tested negative for multiple flu like illnesses, and his doctor told him to basically self quarantine because he didnt have any tests to give and couldnt get any. In the event he became critical he was directed to go to a hospital.
I suspect this is multiplied by thousands of cases across the US.
This bit about just going to your doctor to get a covid test does make for good talking points though.

Oh come on, get over yourself. We're all human, the dude just wants to see some baseball.
I'm sure he doesn't actually think this is more important than saving human lives. It's an internet message board, go virtue signal somewhere else.

Yeah he's being really selfish hoping there isn't more overreaction and a cancelation of baseball games.

Don't worry, you are here to save the day by spreading the retardation from the policave.
Carry on brave troll.

We need the fricking drive thrus where you don't even get out of your car, but the CDC director said he wants to keep the relationship between individuals and their healthcare providers. Such bullshite.

We have a country full of retards.
we do. The vast majority of them are running around causing mass hysteria because they didn't learn from very similar scenarios like ebola and swine flu. Keep hoping this bullshite gets you out of work for a few days or some shite though. I really wouldnt mind that tbh but its not necessary

From the outside, this seems like a communication issue. With Labcorp and Quest both offering the test, wouldn't the doctor just need to take the sample and send it away? It's not like he is running the test in the office and needs the test kit himself.

And if Trump gets on TV tonight and says this shite is serious, we need to implement procedures, think the nothingburger comments keep coming?

It may be some of that but when their advisors tell them they don’t have any good data about how many cases to expect they probably choose to be overly cautious.
That’s why we said from the beginning there needs to be early and widespread testing to identify the hotspots.

This board has been pretty tame. Want to see real panic? Go to any Reddit news board. Full on panic mode there. Also Trump gets mentioned every other comment even if it’s world news related.

Does the constitution allow for a president to shut Down nationwide activity?

Seems like it's going to be a gradual thing. More labs are coming online everyday and the CDC just issued new guidance allowing two samples (from the same person) to be tested together which will also increase throughput and save on supplies. Dr. Gottlieb has been updating the testing situation pretty regularly on Twitter.
Dr. Gottlieb
Dr. Gottlieb is a great follow for anyone wanting balanced takes and some great info on testing in the US.

They just started offering services on Friday/Monday and take 3-4 days for results. We are really just seeing the initial test results from the private labs. The CDC test kits should have been plentiful and supplied to hospitals from the start. The CDC testing fiasco was a monstrous frickup

As with most threads, the extreme posts make up a small part of this thread and the majority of those post are trolls. However, arguing over those posts pads the page totals for the thread
