Travel...where? That's pretty broad
They haven't told us anything more specific. I'm heading to Rosemary Beach in a month. If that means I have to be quarantined then so be it.
I'm guessing they mostly mean any travel by plane specifically.

How close are we to the getting past the fear mongering over this cold?

I think we're in the middle of the panic, but the early stage of the real-world impacts.
I think as the cases spread and life goes on, some of the panic will subside even as practical impacts spread. I just hope Americans will see that most everyone will be fine, and we'll just have to live a somewhat odd lifestyle for the next few months.

This definitely came in during Mardi Gras.
10 days incubation. Couple days to worsen. Couple days to test.

No doubt. By the end of this we’ll all be begging for a tandem float death to ease the pain.

My wife is a nurse in the hospital setting. I was amazed that she told me her hospital hasn't yet placed any restrictions on visiting friends and family member. She said she had a patient yesterday that had over 15 family members in the hospital at a time. Why would administrators even take the chance of a COVID carrier introducing the virus to patients with weakened immune systems, as well as health care providers that are going to be necessary to help fight this thing?

Jefferson Parish, also known as Monroe according to that poster who swore it was there

Man, I wish I could have that optimism. I have a feeling that the very second that the average American is inconvenienced by this will get "end of the world" hysteria going nationwide.

Regardless, thus shouldn’t be allowed.

Because muh feelings.
Americans are spoiled rotten children and telling them no will incite violence or accusations of racism, sexism, etc. So administrators are too scared until it's too late to enforce something so restrictive.

Most hospitals should already have basic flu season visitation restrictions in place.
Ex: our hospital doesn’t allow children under 13 to visit patients. We also have signage that says that no one with respiratory symptoms should visit.
ICUs are also instructed to screen every visitor.

She did say that the doctors are giving the nurses daily, private, and very thorough exams to make sure they are in good health. Did you guys know the vagina is the best place to test for COVID?!
