Well....
That just sounds like quarantined by force with extra steps.

Dumb question I guess but if I ever need to be quarantined can I go outside in my backyard if no one is around? Or do they mean strictly in the home?
That would suck so bad. And if your family needs to be quarantined how do you get groceries, Toilet paper, , etc. No wonder they’re fighting over tp.

Yes....that is why people are hoarding.
Either because they fear they won't be able to get to it later, they fear they won't want to go out later, or the fear of stores not having it later.

Funny, toilet paper is the only thing I’m actually really low on right now.

Just like people that think that freedom of speech means they have the right to say whatever they want whenever they want to whoever they want.

So anyone with the flu or something else should stay home and suffer monetary loss just based on the off chance an elderly person may catch it and die?
Posted on 3/8/20 at 8:55 pm to Volvagia
Volvalgia I know that was the point — I’m not hoarding by any stretch but do want to be self reliant.
Wonder if shipt would still deliver to me??

If we really want people to be quarantined the way you communists are insinuating, then people have every right to hoard the shite out of everything

Is this a real question, I can’t tell with this board anymore.

Moustache don’t. All me a commie — I have zero desire to be Quarantined. arse.
But yes I’ll hoard whatever I want.

You can’t believe in freedom unless you also believe in personal responsibility. If you can’t be responsible enough to take a few days off work when sick then you don’t deserve the freedom of having that choice.

But if I have a slight cough (I don’t) and am sneezing (like crazy; not a symptom as far as I know)I would never normally stay home. Now fever will always keep me home.

If you choose to go out in public, you take a risk every day. Just how it is.
The minute we start welding doors shut or using military/police force to quarantine, is the minute we lose our freedom.
Germs and illness are a part of life. Get over it. If I’m sick, I stay home. Because I can afford it and have that luxury. Others don’t. Not really a hard concept to grasp.

It brings up a good point though. A lot of people in this country live paycheck to paycheck. What are you going to do with the people who can't afford to miss work? For a lot of people even a week unpaid could lead to getting behind on a mortage/other bills and that could spiral into having to use payday loans or putting purchases on credit cards with high interest rates. It could even lead to homeowners losing their homes or renters missing rent and possibly getting kicked out of their apartment.
As big government as it sounds, I think there needs to be pressure on employers to pay employees if they do get coronavirus and have to quarantine. And yes flat out pay, not force employees to use vacation time.

Well...
Yes.
This is why we should all have sick leave and be able to take it when needed.
Honestly places like restaurants are loaded with people in the kitchen sick, running fever. Nobody gets time off of insurance so they go into work, prepare food, and spread their sick.

Exactly. I recently flew to ny, atl, and Houston. I had a cough and runny nose all week last week. No fever, so I went to work.
Should I have stayed home based on all of you paranoid people?
