It sounds like all new positive cases reported today are travel related, which is good. Could also be bad if these are dumb people traveling to known infected areas.

Darth, we do the same exact thing every single day. Aren’t you sick of it? The people who are following this thread want to be updated with the latest news. You don’t help with that, you just attack everyone who shows the slightest bit of concern.

Also, looks like the Costco down there is being visited/bought out currently.

Why are people buying water??? Is the tap going to stop working?

Not sure why others are buying water, but bottled water is our main form of drinking water here. The well water is safe, but not pleasant to drink. I stocked up several weeks ago as I figured the panic buying would ensue once more cases popped up in the US. I didn't go crazy buying anything, just bought ahead on the non-perishable and frozen items, as well as basic supplies. Better to have things on hand than deal with empty store shelves. Monday, there was still things like hand sanitizer on the shelves. I stopped into the store today and it was cleaned out. We haven't even had a confirmed case in our state yet.

Not really, my posts are only 0.36% of the total posts of this thread.

That number(0.36%) is also closer to the final mortality rate of Corona than the beloved 3.8%. That would make it 260% more deadly than the flu though, we all win our arguments

its better if you absorb sanitizer through your anus than oral.

I have a half gallon of hand sanitizer. I will be willing to part with it a 10cc syringe at a time. $10 a syringe. No questions asked on where you're going to place said syringe or its contents.

I went to BGA 20 years ago. Could have been me.

But for real, I was at my ENT in Brentwood this morning when we found out and he told me not to worry about anything. He said he was looking in to cheap flights for a vacation. Just in case I went across the street to Publix and picked up a couple extra containers of baby formula and diapers in case there was a run on the stores, which I guess makes me guilty of running to the stores and perpetuating it.

I know I'm sick of looking at your avatar. It's irritating. You should change it. Alleva is long gone, and you have more or less made yourself king of this thread.
I have to look at Joe's face at least once per page and it is a little wearing.
Not directed at you in particular, but the absolute joy that some people take in fanning the flames and frightening the public is really amazing. A little fear may be healthy, but a lot is extremely counterproductive.
There are absolutely more rumors in this thread than facts at this point. It would serve everyone better to be accurate, than to use the shotgun approach of broadcasting unsubstantiated information.
The OT is often the best source of information during a crisis (such as a hurricane), but in this thread, it missed it's mark.

Reports out of Italy that nearly 10% of positive cases are progressing to ICU. This is the number that health care professionals seem more worried about than death rates.

Hong & Singapore still appear to be managing this better than others.

Germany over 500 confirmed cases but no reported deaths.

Looking at the CDC interactive map and you know what I see? An increasing infection rate with one glaring fact. You know who doesn't have a single case?

People thrive on chaos and fear.

Many people have what is called an apocalypse fantasy and that drives a lot of their opinions and motivations.

Then you have those who just have a minimal rational understanding of the situation and are fear stricken into the “chaos” box.

It truly is interesting how people overblow so much of this.
