Bro, all we are doing in this thread is discussing updates, news and the like and 99 percent are real time numbers with links

I understand what you are saying and wanting, but that is not the case here mostly.

People are only posting numbers without context or here is a number with a link you can find the rest of story there. You then mix that with everyone making a point to list every overreaction the would is having.

The details really matter and it is amazing most are just feeling the need to neglect that.

If you do want people to feel this is an informative thread, bring the stats and not the "mortality rate is standing at 3.8%". While factually true, it is extremely disingenuous if this is to stand as an informative research thread.

This is such a dumb argument. Most of those things on that list aren't highly contagious. Some of them are preventable to an extent, sure. But once you're old and overweight and have heart disease, there's not a ton you can do.

Also, you're acting like people in here don't care about flu or other things. Most people in here have expressed wishes that everybody would get a flu vaccine.

ETA: You can't just wave a magic wand and undo someone smoking 50 years ago. But you can try to do things in the present to help extend lives.

You posted this table below which shows the estimated death rate of coronavirus being 100 times as deadly as the swine flu and the rest of your link calculated it as 150 times as deadly.

Then you proceeded to tell everyone to relax

If someone shares a newly released number with a link why should they have to type a paragraph of context explaining that they aren't panicking for the post to be ok? I thought most of us here already just assumed we aren't in a panic. When you look at it for what it really is (discussion with facts and updates then you would probably change your tone. Or not.

It's like you think we are only here discussing because we are panicking. That's not the case darth.

My mom was in Sam's today and said they were out of water, bleach, disinfectants, and were limiting cases of water to two per person.

People are crazy.

Also...go on Amazon and look up the prices for Purell. Its batshit.

Just got an email today that the VA is spinning up its Emergency Management Coordination Cell in Martinsburg, WV and asking for volunteers to do 30 day rotational assignments there. They have "developed a robust strategic plan to ensure sustained operation in response to COVID-19."

I'm not going, but it's interesting to see the mammoth bureaucracy start to respond.

I bought groceries at Walmart today and the disinfectant, Clorox wipes and sanitizer were gone. I expect milk and bread sometime in the near future as well. People are nuts. The Walmart greeter was even decked out in a surgical mask as were several customers. I almost took a pic of the entire empty section where the lysol and Clorox, wipes etc was. I don't typically stock up on large amounts of food. I buy a few days worth at a time since I live close to the store.

I thought amazon was cracking down on this. Also, is hand sanitizer going to be out of most places for the next couple of weeks or could this go for months? They need to make more and have stores limit how many you can buy.

For DIY hand sanitizer buy aloe and alcohol and mix it together.

Dang man, let see if we can use something to scare some more

Damn you details. More people have recovered from Corona (53,000) than people that even got SARS (8000). Initial reports came in low and they finished high.

The Swineflu was as high as 4.2% mortality early, before finishing up around 0.02% Initial reports came in high and finished low.

Do you think this is more like Swine Flu or SARS/MERS (2494 cases)?

I feeling this is swine, which saw mass overreaction as well.
