There are trade associations cancelling conventions and instituting travel bans for their employees because of the media induced hype.
Which is a story you brought with you.
And again, none of the active participants of this thread can account for that.
Outside of the one offs that get dog piled, the doomsdayers have pretty much left this thread.
Although maybe my metric for it is a bit jaded because we had to deal with Twitter statements that there were 100k dead in China by late January.

Unless you have one or a combo of the following: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, hypertension, and/or cancer this is nothing more than a manufactured crisis.
Most on TD probably aren't at serious risk. But nearly all have people close to us in one or more of the categories above. That's what makes it serious. If you're strictly in it for yourself, NBD. I have people close to me who I'd like to stay around a while longer.

North Carolina just announced their first case. Outside of Raleigh.

It was this statement that forced me to visqueen my house and duct tape the seals last month. I ripped open one of the duct tape seals last night and noticed that everyone is still alive in my neighborhood so all is good.

Ding ding. I’m not going to shrug my shoulders and tell my parents don’t sweat, roll that dice, even though I have no personal concern.

“Officials said the patient contracted the virus after visiting a nursing home in Seattle, Wash., that is linked to seven deaths related to the novel coronavirus.“

While I know where you are coming from, yes we can say the mortality rate will drop considerably. China is already starting to close hospitals and easing quarantine.
I'm not arguing that CFR rate is higher or lower. You made a paticular reference to SK and I was just pointing out that we don't know what SK is because there aren't enough resolved cases. These are basics across all scientific disciplines when looking at any new data sets - do we have enough? What is the quality? Is the spatial aspect sufficient? Etc. I'm inclined to favor the lower end numbers but I just don't know enough about this kind of data to fully understand the nuances but I've seen experts make compelling arguments for both the higher and lower bounds.

No more serious than a regular bout of flu.

Exactly. However, the OT is for realz and isn't concerned because this only kills old people. Too bad, mom, dad, gramps, great grandma

I do worry about someone like my mother. Her immune system sucks. Anyone else in my family? Not really.

8% of Iran's Parliament Has Tested Positive for Coronavirus
For a country with "no homosexuality," those parliamentarians seem to spend a lot of time with each other.

I posted facts. You’re posting with certainty about what you think you know about a virus that came into existence a few months ago.

Here’s a twitter thread of someone who has all of the COVID-19 symptoms and has a history of chronic bronchitis, yet still is not “eligible” for testing:

If she's been smoking marijuana, her symptoms might get a whole lot worse.
