Not really. I’d just prefer it stays the frick away from my family so I don’t have to be paranoid about it.

It’s official. We were told the office will be shutting down for two weeks and everyone has to work from home.

That may be a little premature. It hasn’t even spread significantly yet. It’s not like it’s going to get better in 2 weeks the situation is only going to be worse.

Honestly, the US is way behind on the trend of working from home anyway. Hopefully this pushes that issue.

It all depends. Would I shut down a business for two weeks over this? Nah.

But if the office is a formality and work can occur at home....why not?

Why in the frick would they make that decision this early?

So you all work from home for two weeks and then in 3 weeks when it gets bad, you work from home another 3-4 weeks.

I work for a big international company and we got the official email yesterday laying everything out. I’m pretty happy that they aren’t implementing work from home and limiting travel

Work from home is always “work” from home.

I’m thinking that it’s the fact that no one has any idea how widespread this is due to lack of testing. By end of next week we should have a much better idea. If there’s a ton of testing by end of next week and it shows that there’s minimal spread, companies will feel better about taking chances versus now when they have no idea.

I live in the Bay area, and if I'm feeling a little sick, I'm not going to go to the doctor. So I could have corona and be spreading it with minimal symptoms.

But you can't expect every person to just run to the doctor every time they have a cough and a little fever.

I’m so glad that I work remote. Makes me feel better about this. I also live in Austin and sxsw bringing in global crowds bothers me.

No but we can expect the CDC to be able to test people with the amount of lead time we had on this problem.

If I told you before this started that we would be struggling to get out a 100 tests a day but South Korea was doing 10,000 tests a day would you be ok with that? And they are right next door to the source.
