Why is it that almost every poster whose name starts with "Mr" is an idiot?
Low self-esteem.

That is probably a serious concern right now for New Orleans officials?
I doubt New Orleans officials are aware of the virus.

It’s possible for this to be worse than the flu but also not an apocalyptic event. If we say it’s worse than the flu we are automatically thrown in the doomsayer camp. It’s a strange phenomenon.
He is the equivalent to people that think this is the end of the world, just on the opposite end of the spectrum.

They can’t be bothered to do an audit of the drainage system in nearly 15 years in spite of multiple flooding issues.
This won’t hit their radar until they have someone to extort, a cousin with vested business interest in the “solution,” or political points to gain blaming their incompetence on someone else.

N.O. officials, if they heard about it, are probably wondering how to ban the beer.

This thread temporarily dropped to page 2. Is that a buy signal?

My 6 month old tested positive for Flu B yesterday. Feel bad for the little man.

I'm going to request a sticky for this thread again. It really needs to be at the top of the page.

That stinks. I had to watch my 3 yr old go through it last week. Poor dude was absolutely drained but was in a good mood the whole time. Him and my wife (also flu) spent all last week recovering while me and my 2 yr old waited on our fate.
We ended up not getting it but the whole time I felt like Marshall from that episode of How I Met Your Mother where Lily gets food poisoning from some soup he also ate and he spends the rest of the day trying to enjoy life before it begins for him.

Nothing worse than watching a young child go through a sickness like that. I'd voluntarily contract the illness for twice as long to prevent a 6 month old from having the flu if possible.

Why? It’s not like there is a stream of pressing, need to know info here. If interest naturally wanes, who cares?
Posted on 3/3/20 at 11:22 am to Volvagia
That's your take.
I think we have more posters coming in than we have had since this thread was started. Likely to be more people interested in what's going on and WE ALL KNOW, we cant trust the MMS.
If interest wanes, then the thread can be cut loose and allowed to sink. Until then, why not have it pinned to the top?
I'm not in the "omg we are all going to die" boat, and I'm also not in the "omg this is a nothing burger" boat, I'm genuinely interested in the daily updates given here.

From WHO twitter:
"Globally, about 3.4% of reported #COVID19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1% of those infected"- @DrTedros #coronavirus

So you’re comparing a reported number vs a total infections number. Solid info there.

Now tell us how many coughers and sneezers were tested for flu versus how many were tested for COVID.
This is bad data.

Same argument that China has like 2 flu deaths, but the US has tens of thousands.
