Corona virus is likely in 10th place of viruses you might acquire on board.

Eggs make for an awesome cheap protein source that stays good for a long while.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t know this. In what state do they keep? Hard boiled?

I haven’t done any scientific studies, but not ever getting burnt on ignoring the sell by date on the carton has given me confidence.

Googled it, general rule of thumb you are good at least 2 months after the posted sell by date.

And you prob can stretch it further getting pasteurized eggs.

ETA: And raw.

I gotcha. Supposedly if you drop a raw egg in water and it floats, they’re good. If they sink, they’re not.

And of course, honey never expires, so there’s that, too.

Another death in the ship group

Daily Mail article

Victim is Japanese man in his 80s who was removed from the Diamond Princess

The death comes after two other elderly passengers, also both Japanese and in their 80s, died on Thursday after contracting the virus.

On Thursday, two Japanese passengers - an 87-year-old man and an 84-year-old woman - died from the same disease, a week after a woman not related to the cruise ship also died.

4 more in South Korea

another in Italy

Lombardy health official Giulio Gallera told reporters Sunday that the victim was an elderly woman from the town of Crema near Milan, who was also suffering from cancer. Two other elderly patients in northern Italy have died over the past 48 hours.

I would think the majority of people on a cruise at this time of year would be elderly.

Yeah, I believe you’re right. I’ve been eating a lot of bad eggs I guess!

Eggs are good in the fridge uncooked for about a month or two

The numbers outside of China are similar to the numbers inside of China from roughly a month ago.

It’s also been roughly a month since the lockdowns.

The Navy keeps eggs on board its ships unrefrigerated for months at a time. No idea what, if anything, is done to the eggs but they come in normal big boxes and don't appear to be anything special.

People who cruise on sailboats don't refrigerate their eggs. Coat them with a little vaseline and keep them on the counter.

The virus does not cause a runny nose or cough as symptoms of it. Between 26 and 27 degrees Celsius (and above) the virus won’t survive. Drinking hot water and exercising are a good way to kill the virus in your body. A vaccine is not necessary.

Putting half a billion people under quarantine/lockdown and shutting off a multi-trillion-dollar economy? Welding people into their apartment buildings. Dragging people away by force if they have an elevated temperature or are not wearing a mask? The CCP is overreacting because of its concern for the wellbeing of its citizens? The same CCP that I saw preparing a couple of guys for execution in front of the building they were demolishing in Beijing in 2004? The same CCP that routinely harvests all the organs from Fallan Gong members? If warm water was the cure, one of the state-owned companies would be going door to door selling hot water kettles at an inflated price and demanding that they be purchased. Sounds like the only traditional Chinese medicine cure that the nephew left out was the hot ginger tea that my friends in Wuhan are drinking.
