JAMA publishes a new paper based on patients at one hospital.

Infections: equal young and old, equal male and female. This is not what the early reports said.

It's a disease that takes weeks to develop to the getwell stage.
Early symptoms are minor, except when they aren't.

No easy if-then symptoms seem to happen. AND it's a disease of the entire body.

Which is unusual for a corona virus. They normally afflict the upper respiratory areas. This one is causing pneumonia, so it’s getting deep into the lungs.

Yeah, they burn a shitload of coal. Definitely makes sense to see that in the middle of winter

Not to mention they are all at home, at the same time, burning electricity for heat, lights, and TV. Dirty-coal power plants are probably running an 110%

Why abbreviate so many words?

Sorry I should have spelled it out for the common folk..

HK = Hong Kong
SG = Singapore
PRC = People’s Republic of China
CNY = Chinese New Year

All common lingo in Asia

I think they are starting to resume work this week. I remember reading that some cities had approved that.

My peeps in Shenzhen are off until end of February.

Singapore still up and running, but fears are beginning to take hold and I wouldn’t doub seeing a small shutdown should things continue to progress like they are there.

I was assuming the elevated SO2 readings were an anomaly for the area. Article wasn’t real clear. But I doubt they’ve installed many scrubber systems into their power plants.

It seems like the cases outside of China have been much milder. Hopefully that continues.

From a 3d printer manufacturer in Shenzen;

We were able to send employees to clean up the warehouse Monday and perform disinfection per government requirement. We still have not received the official approval to start operating yet, so we are working to meet all requirements that are changing daily.

Chinese media confirms that asymptomatic cases of coronavirus are now excluded from the government's official count. This contradicts WHO guidelines. It's unknown how many asymptomatic cases there are.

The only way to avoid it

I've been firing warning shots at anyone who gets within 50 ft of my condo building. So far so good up here.

Our Shenzhen office and Dandong factories are both following government advisory. They will be back at work the second the Chinese government tells them they can. Neither started back up today.

This kind of stuff makes it hard to take the numbers at face value. I don't think they are worried about international perception but are trying to convince citizens it's safe to go back to work. I mean surly those blower trucks aren't actually accomplishing anything other than giving the appearance the government is doing everything it can to stop the virus spread.

Yeah, I don’t think their companies are going by the govt... I’d assume because they don’t believe the govt. They are looking after their people and taking a more cautious approach.

Hell, China is spraying diluted bleach all over the major cities and all analysts have come out and said this won’t do shite, its all for show.

They're either already dead or in hard labor camps by now.

Was just lowered to 21,675 according to BNO News. That's coming off a day where the suspected cases fell by nearly 4,000.

Possibly asymptomatic transmission

26% in the ICU
4% mortality

Average hospital stay was 10 days

If you can’t see how this is different than the flu and could massively overwhelm our healthcare system, well I don’t know what to tell you.
