So how does that work? Will airlines be required to ask passengers if they have been in China in the last two weeks? And what if they lie, why should the airline incur the costs of a diversion?
Companies have always had to incur the cost when business partners of any kind lie to them.

Yes, if you don't trust china then you want the world to die from this virus and also you don't care about the Flu.

WTH? Never realized Brosnan was in that flick.

They're unhappy with the numbers out of China. They constantly find articles to support the idea China is lying and the impact is far greater, but they ignore the international numbers that are staring them in the face. I don't know how else to interpret it. They won't be happy until the numbers out of China are higher.
Slackster, all of these other countries are currently 30-60 days behind the Wuhan outbreak. The numbers should be small. And hopefully with sufficient care and attention, these new cases in other countries are dealt with properly so it doesn't spread like it did in China. It is encouraging to see that there have been no deaths from those outside of China. I wouldn't take a victory lap at this point or abandon concern.
Right now we have many reports from Chinese citizens including health care workers that the number of deaths and cases is larger than is being reported. We don't know how much larger.
I appreciate the information from you and Volvagia, but why are you trying to turn everything into an attack on other posters in this thread? Chill out. Speak plainly to what you disagree with and lets keep it civil.

China accuses US of spreading fear
But at the same time send police to their own citizens homes and tell them to undo their social media postings. I wonder why some people don’t trust them.

No intention to attack individual posters. Just find it entertaining how a particular group seems to only find Twitter links and articles that paint a picture of doom and gloom. I get being skeptical in general, but it's a bit relentless in this thread at times, and I do question what would make those posters happy.

People are going to post noteworthy news on the outbreak. Some of it may be wrong. Volvagia did an excellent job of addressing the whole AIDs paper from the Indian doctors without trolling and resorting to name calling.

You seem emotionally invested in this thread and in your opinion of other opinions in this thread. It's a sad look to be honest. Why you mad bro?

Well
Just a little of trolling/name calling.
Directed at the Indian authors though, not here.

By my count there are only 8 positive cases elsewhere. Does this mean there are 3 positives in here with us?!?

Re the Welsh guy from Llandudno who said he cured it with whisky and honey, he also said he got it two months ago.
Unless Welsh months are different in length from the rest of the world (I have friends living in North Wales who are beginning to believe this), he either is patient 1 or got sick with something else.

A pandemic is described as a disease that spreads across a large region, across continents and even the entire globe. The coronavirus is reportedly spreading at a similar pace to influenza compared to the slow-moving SARS and MERS, according to the New York Times.

Being a contrarian is his shtick on every board on TD. I guess he gets some pleasure out of that.

It constantly reaffirms how little I trust the media when they show this level of shitty reporting about things I know about. Can only imagine how bad it is with things I am not independently knowledgeable about.

Honestly, the best hope is probably that the weather warms up, and it sort of dies out during the summer months while vaccine work is done.
