I may be confused, but I think we are still under the assumption that the paper connecting HIV to the Corona virus is junk?
Also, I don't think they need to report out the cases as "cured". There's no cure currently. Recovered would be a better word.

No. The claim isn’t that it contains the HIV virus or even a gene from the HIV virus.
If the twos viruses’ DNA were a story, and the genes within it paragraphs, the connection they are referring to is that they found the same word in different places of both stories.

The thing to watch now is the rate of spread outside of China, esp in the nearby Asian countries. The next area to watch after that will be India and Africa, as they don't have widespread access to the modern medical facilities that we have in the Western countries.
ETA: At the current trajectory, China will probably lose the ability to keep up with new cases in the hardest hit areas, so it will be interesting to see what happens with their data over the next week.

Probably the virus showing up in multiple countries outside of the wuhan province. That coupled with China realizing they can't handle this on their own.

How in the hell does the CDC still have 121 of 241 pending test results? I know it takes time, but I sure thought they would have got that number down by now.

Thanks for the link. Most if not all of those pending test results are from the group thats quarantined here with me at MAFB. Those should be all updated today. They said 2-3 days and we were all tested Wednesday.

Site not updated? If anything the number of ending should have changed as samples came in?
If not that, that would boost my earlier suspicion that the main problem globally was a lack of the customized ingredients to do the tests.
It’ll change as the facilities ramp up with what they need.
