Just to expound on Tom Cotton, this dude throws out the lab in Wuhan while saying we don't know where it originated, as if the lab is as reasonable as anything else. He also says patient zero didn't visit the market, as if that's some sort of definitive case. Patient zero was the first confirmed case, but that doesn't mean he's the index case. We know it can be transmitted asymptomatically, and we know 27 of the first 41 visited the market, but sure, let's definitively say it didn't originate at the market.

Tom Cotton knows enough to be dangerous, but not enough to realize how uninformed he truly is.

So did we ever rule out snake plus bat?

If we didn't, then the probability of random and not engineered goes way down. Big leap from cold blooded to warm to a third species. Start getting into some pretty damn high improbability there.

Rumors are, this is a virus created in a lab, and has a patent.

Truth?

It's an 88% match to coronaviruses found in bats. SARS was also an 88% match to bats.

The HIV study has been pretty widely criticized too.

~75 cases added overnight. Now over 12,000

Who was the one that said we wouldn't get to 15,000 confirmed cases?

Care to share informative criticism? I have no leanings either way, but haven’t seen any detailed criticism of the conclusions from that paper.

LINK

Short version is they did a search for the sequences they claim are inserted.

It’s everywhere. So even if it’s generated (no evidence supporting that, just speaking hypothetically) it’s deliberate misinformation/fear mongering to pick HIV as your claimed source.

Good job OP. I always hate it when someone starts a thread and doesn’t update with developments.

Keep us updated on this outbreak for the next 6 months. It is your duty as a patriot. You started this thread 2 weeks ago. Keep us informed.

Seriously. This is where I get my information from.

Could have used a forced break, but to be fair, I think I was drunk when I made it.

I think your prediction is still good. New cases are slowing down, LINK is starting to look like an s-curve.

Edit, nevermind, the chart doesn't include the daily update from China. It only has international data for today. frick.

V, if the info regarding HIV inserted into the genetic code of the Novel- Corona virus is correct. That suggests that if a person recovers from this virus that the HIV virus would still be active in that person? Thanks, not trying to fear monger but interesting none the less.
