I’m not sure what you mean by this. Are you saying most people caught this from a non human source?

No. That isn’t what he believes. It is any new risk that can end life as we know it then until proven otherwise should have the priority. When that risk is fully assessed and explained such as the flu then you don’t worry so much.
You say “any new risk” but it is any risk that can end life as we know it.
Basically, if life as we know it is on the line then why gamble? He does a much better job of explaining it in his writings and papers than me.
ETA: Also, a key tenant is poor information, conflicting information, complex information, misinformation and lies about the risk. And people using this information to make decisions on the risk.

Probably referring to outside of China. Right now we aren't really seeing explosive growth outside of China. I linked a modeling paper earlier today that said we are still probably 1 - 2 weeks from seeing the full picture inside China. There is probably an additional lag added to that for other countries. So maybe a month before we know how bad this might get?

Almost all of the cases are from people who were in Wuhan... it is unknown what the source of the virus is. Could tons of the food supply there be contaminated? It’s just very odd that only a handful who have had it didn’t go to Wuhan.

Translation for non biochem nerds:
Be aware that is NOT a rendering of the virus, but rather of a protein that facilitates cell infection.
It’s rather impressive they have a crystal structure solved this quickly. It must be really easy to crystallize. You could spend six months just finding the right conditions to crystallize it.
And that’s after finding the right conditions to overexpress it E. coli after cloning the gene for this protein in.
ETA: Scratch that.
They deserve to be attacked and to be banned.
I’ve now read the caption and the claimed implication.
Basically they are insinuating that it’s a man made novel protein based on HIV, using elements at the active sites
Which is an absurd lie apparent to EVERYONE who knows anything about molecular biology.
That glycoprotein (If it’s even what they claim it to be) binds to cells in respiratory lining.
HIV has no activity there. At all.
So there is no point to insert HIV secondary structure there even if it was a lab made super virus. It would do nothing.
But oooo...scary HIV errrrrbody! You don’t know this science, but you know that scary word! This is man made!
At least the surprising rapidity of a solved structure makes sense....it’s probably a fake.

I posted the twitter of Sen Cotton. I have a lot of respect for how he conducts himself. He said that China isnt giving up proper numbers and it is worse than what they know.

Seems like the international reaction has ramped up since China agreed to allow the Who experts in.

People on the Twitter machine are saying that Zerohedge has been suspended for posting this image.
The user hinted it could be a bioweapon. There was an Indian source claiming they found HIV elements in the Wuhan virus sample. Either way this isn't a good look for Twitter, its going to cause the conspiracy theorists to come out of the wood work now even more so.

Could you put that image in baw terms?

Yeah tons of garbage on twitter. Or idiots.

Wouldn’t the CDC know this? And if so, wouldn’t the state’s have immediately shut down all travel based off of that info?

Pretty sure that’s not what they said... they would scrutinize people.
But yet still allow delta to fly there for another week... hmm

It must be getting real in China

Things of note:
1)that is not peer reviewed, which means anyone can say what they want.
2) if you look at any discussion online that this has spurred, other experts are tearing it apart because the statement that “its unlikely to fortuitous in nature.” The codons in question are associated with motifs common in plenty of viruses and even more complex organisms.
They do not adequately defend or support the claim that makes the basis of their headline. And without that, there is literally nothing noteworthy in it.
Ease up on the bioweapon angle folks.
For one, it’s doing a really shite job as a candidate of one.
