Does FL, TX, and Cali use the same way to count Corona related deaths as LA?

San Miguel County, Colorado, which includes Telluride, is giving serology (antibody) tests to everyone that they can in the county. Telluride is a tourist town, so a number of people with the virus should have spent time there. Of the first two groups of over 1600 people tested, less than 2% were positive.
This study, along with studies in Iceland and in the town of Vo, Italy, show that the number of people who are asymptomatic may be considerably larger than the number who have symptoms (maybe even double or triple), but that doesn't translate into a large chunk of the population having the virus.
It's not possible that hundreds of millions have contracted COVID-19.

I believe NYU already has an 8 week trial ongoing now. Targeting people that lack COvID19 symptoms, but have been in contact with those that have confirmed cases.

Is this THE WEEK where shite is supposed to get real with deaths? If it doesn’t will a lot of people start calming down and wanting to get back to normal? Not trying to troll just an honest question. I feel like goal line is continually pushed back on this thing.

They only have 9 positive symptomatic cases for the whole county. 2% have antibodies which would be 140. That would equal 15 times under reporting of cases including asymptomatic which is in line with studies out of china and italy.
This would make the total fatality rate for the world around .3%. In the US the fatality rate would be around .13%.
Louisiana probably around 200,000 total cases and a total mortality rate of .24%
As long as we can keep hospital overwhelmed by expanding capacity or medication, we can go back to normal.

Good morning guys. I just wanted to pop in and say that my nurse said I should be released sometime today or tomorrow morning. Still waiting on the doctor so obviously he is the one to make that call but I feel pretty damn good. Oxygen saturation up to 97 and I actually slept through the night last night for the first time since I got here.
It's been a rough couple of weeks but things are working out nicely. I will never forget you guys urging me to go to the hospital. Not saying I would have died but it is a possibility that you saved my life. I am stubborn as hell and I hate doctors and hospitals.
I hope he comes in and says things are great and he let's me go home. I really want to see my wife and kids.

So happy to hear this CD! I'm a big believer in the power of positive, yet realistic, thinking. I believe you said your family had all test positive as well. Does that mean you just need to quarantine at home but not be quarantined from your family for the two week period until your next test?
