Yea I get annoyed everyday in Texas. These fricking rent a cops always pulling people over for small shite. I was a cop for EBRSO. We didnt even have time to deal with the petty shite they pull people over for over here.

In almost every single case, community Karens complain about speeding and politicians demand the police take action so they can get reelected under the guise f doing something.
Usually the person who b!tches about the speed trap is a Karen in their own community. Laws for thee but not for me.

Tennessee troopers on I-40 don’t play. A car like that will get you pulled over so the drug canine can sniff around. Damned if you do damned if you don’t. I can honestly say that I have deserved every one of the numerous speeding tickets that I have been issued over the past 30 years. Never been pulled over for going the speed limit or lower. Minding the speed limit works if you abide by it.

Has the OP explained why he shouldn’t have gotten a ticket for speeding when he was in fact speeding rather than letting the erratic driver he was trying to pass just stay ahead of him?

You dont know if their tags were expired. You saw the sticker which genuinely does not mean anything anymore.
Many stops I have made and see the sticker on plate be out of date but the registration in hand would be up to date and the new sticker still on it. Allow them to apply the new sticker and possibly cite them for what ever my probable cause was if applicable.

This was my reaction as well.
He then came in and said he had a turn come up thus the need to speed by these cars.
If you have a turn come up, you don’t need to pass the two cars in front of you…just stay behind them and turn, especially in a 35 mph zone.
But yeah, this is the cop’s fault.

Low hanging fruit is the most cliche corporate phrase. I absolutely hate hearing it. You deserve your ticket for using that phrase
