We can’t build a bridge until we decide where to put it.

We are studying a plan now so that we can continue planning.

There's really no ideal place to put it. Even if you could widen the existing, there's no room to widen the approach roadways.

It would need to be south of Baton Rouge enough to take meaningful traffic away as a bypass. But then you would need a lot of new interstate to detour around Gross Tete and connect around Geismar.

I agree. I know they are proposing to extend LA 415 south over the Port Allen lock. Maybe that's a possibility to tie that together with a crossing over the mississippi.

It’ll never be ready in time.

Ahh…in that case, it might be ready in time!

It's incredible that it's taken them close to a decade to figure out that no matter where you put it, it isn't going to be easy. The fricking thing isn't gonna build itself.

But when I think about it, the more likely scenario is that they are just going to wait for as long as they can hoping people will just forget about it so they can pocket everything they can get their hands on.
