It’s been a decade, but super easy as long as you can pass calc and physics.
I don’t think they turn down any students that apply
Great career opportunities after graduation

There’s a mutual understanding that field guys can’t do my job and I can’t do theirs. Obviously there are some things that overlap, but that understanding is important. My senior field CM always tells us that the PM/Superintendent relationship is the most important one on the job.

My roommate who went out to tigerland basically every night and failed a couple of his classes ended with getting a construction management degree. Never saw him do homework.

A lot of shitty “construction companies” in BR that would probably hire him because all the real talent gets sucked up petty early on in cm students careers

I'd put it at a 4. As many others said, the hardest required classes are physics 2, accounting, and business calc.
Tell your kid to put in just a bit of effort getting thru those 3 classes, graduate with a 3.0 or better, and do internships summer after sophomore and junior years.
Starting pay at my company is 73,500 for cm grads. They can be making 100k in 2 years. a good PM is making 120-140 with bonus. Supers get paid more but it usually takes a little longer.

I don’t know what’s it like now, but twenty years ago it was the major for a lot of students that couldnt make it in engineering. I was mechanical for 3 years and then finished school with a cm degree
Pretty much the same with me except I started out in environmental engineering

CM grad here, I'd say a 4. Calculus, Physics 1, physics 2 are the hardest classes. Just make a C in those and you'll be fine. There are some other classes that more of a pain in the arse rather than hard. I don't think it's hard to get into, I'm actually not sure if you can get rejected from it. If so, I've never heard of it happening.
Anyways, keep a 3.0ish GPA, and get some summer internships and you can end up doing very well for yourself. The hardest part is probably figuring out what career path you want to take, Project Management, Superintendent, Estimator, etc. and also what field to into, Commercial, Industrial, Residential, Subcontractor side, etc.

What’s the point of being a PE if you’re gonna work as a gc?

Because chit needs to be stamped sometimes for the permit office (nazis) or other jackasses.

If you can minor in getting meth heads to work for you that would be a beneficial skill set since all the Mexicans will be gone.

You have to take the CAC Exam to graduate. Not pass but just take it. That's a 6-8 hour exam.

Went back after working in operations for a few years and got this as a second bachelors. Making excellent money now living in the Houston area. Best thing I ever did.

This. I know a number that were in my class that switched to CM
Irony is I got my mechanical engineering g degree and spent the majority of the last 20+ years managing projects….
