It’s a 1st interview. Salary isn’t discussed at 1st interviews at least not for mine.

This is a very dumb "unwritten" rule.

Why waste time interviewing if the pay is not going to work for both sides? There's nothing dumber than doing 3 interviews and then the pay not be in line.

It's discussed, usually early on (1st interview), if I can tell that our salary range is not within an acceptable range of the candidate.

But it's always discussed. I would never wait until the 3rd interview to share this information. That would be a misuse of time.

I'm not envious, I just think it's hilarious youre posting all this self help, "10 ways to kill an interview" bullshite for a gas station attendant and wondering why people aren't showing up.

Hint, it's because you're hiring for a minimum wage or maybe $9 an hour job

Take a break and chill. Just grab one of the Big Montana sandwiches from the heat lamp area and drown your frustration in some horsey sauce.

I used to work for the companies we hire from so I know what they make.

Point being, companies are treating interviewees like shite, so they should expect the same in return. Maybe you don't, but understand that many others are. It is common practice. People get jaded

Repeat after me. I do not own a gas station.

401(k), health benefits, life insurance, vacation, company phone, laptop and dining plan, along with a very competitive salary is far and away from a minimum wage or maybe $9 an hour job.

Showing up is half of life. It's amazing how many people simply fail to show up.

The jobs are out there people. But you have to have some desire to ACT like you want them.

A lot of times I just apply for jobs to see if they will call me back. Why don't you make your application process harder to weed out candidates that just attach their resume and move on.

If it's such a big problem, you need to analyze the way you are selecting candidates, and make adjustments from there

These sound like interview fails. On to the next candidate.

This is why we interview.

Are there reviews of your company on Glassdoor? I’ve blasted a company that interviewed me 4xs only to never call me back. That’s just rude.

I’ve had the exact same thing happen 2 of the last 3 interviews.

I think people realize that they really don’t want to work as they are trying to get out of bed for the interview. Just my guess though.

You must have cash flow issues. People migrate to money.

Exactly. That’s why salary isn’t discussed in 1st interviews. You are going to make a lot more

You really come of as arrogant in all of your business threads.

The common denominator to all of these people cancelling interviews is you.

Maybe you should work on having less turnover.

This kind of thing is becoming more and more prevalent. I blame the generation

And I can blame the older generation for now wanting to become a job-hopper. I am a very loyal dude, and when I started out, I was ready to stick with a company and work on projects for the long haul. That's what I've always done.

After dealing with many and hearing plenty of stories from buddies, frick companies. I'm gonna jump ship as soon as I get a better offer
