I would but the market in BR is shitty for minivans. Either get barebones or a fully loaded minivan that I will have a hard time negotiating down on price. The price for those are generally $50k+ and I'm seeing these SUVs mentioned under $40k which is our ideal price range.

Bruh.

The last three vehicle I bought the dealership drove then to me.

I've purchased from Palestine Texas, Longview Texas, and Covington.

They'll drive it to your door. Cost like $250. 125 for each driver.

Saved thousands over locally sourced in SWLA.

I just bought a Honda Odessey EXL with ceramic tint (a must) with low miles for 32k. Has all the bells and whistles.

but I am having trouble shaking the feeling of driving a Kia.

The new Kia's are not the Kia's of old. They've made some huge leaps. The Carnival turned me from a Toyota stalwart to wanting to buy a kia.

I've heard nothing but good things from the people I know that got tellurides, aside from some minor paint issues and some trim fading. Got a chance to ride in one the other day and they are even nicer than I thought. Roomy and comfy, rides like a dream.

Meanwhile the JGCs people I've know have had have been much more of a mixed bag. Some like them and some loathe them.

traverse? Personally I think the headrest is awful. Didn't like how it handled, felt clunky. (Granted it was an older model). Not terrible...but not great at anything.

For the money I think the Telluride is the best bang for the buck and has the best safety ratings and warranty.
IMHO

Your 3 options are probably 3 of the top 5 worst options on the market right now.

Avoid modern Jeep SUVs at all cost. Same with the modern Chevy SUVs. Both are prone to major problems with the drivetrain as well as quality issues with the body/interior.

The Telluride seems to have a better drivetrain than the other two mentioned, so this would be your obvious choice of the three. But they still are known/prone to having build quality issues with the body and other plastic exterior trim pieces like door handles, mirrors, sunroofs, etc.

Go with a used Volvo XC90, or Toyota Highlander/4runner with the 3rd row (or the Lexus version of the above). I'm not sure if Honda Passport or Pilot offer 3rd row options, but they would be better choices too. I would even consider a Nissan Armada/Infiniti version with the V8 before the options you listed.

Kias are ugly. Those pastel colors and KIA painted across the back. I’d be looking at Toyota, maybe Honda Pilot or some of the Mazdas.

Just bought my son a grand Cherokee(not the L). I really like it but can’t speak for longevity. Drives and rides well though

Had a ‘23 GC L. It was a good vehicle and got very good gas mileage. Only reason we traded for a Tahoe was we needed more room with my high school son and his friends when going on trips.

Last year we looked at used XC90s and the prices were great but I couldn't pull the trigger due to us only having single income, so that got put in hold. Used will likely carry a higher interest rate than I'd prefer and the same XC90s they were trying to sell last year are marked up another $10k.

Again, the options are based mostly on pricing, then availability. There are a ton of new 2025 GCs and Traverses that are getting $10k-$13k price cuts on better trim models that go for less than entry level versions. I am unable to find anything like this among Honda/Toyota and I'm definitely not finding that in Acura/Volvo/Lexus.

there are tons of complaints about Toyota SUVs right now, so I wouldn’t say these are the worst 3 picks

The current Pathfinders do not use a CVT transmission.

Read that they run a ZT ? Transmission???
German, have been around for many years, used in BMW’s

Will say the Pathfinder gives a quiet ride compared to Subaru Ascent and RAV 4

The RAV4 is horrible re road nose. Other than that and it being sluggish if not in sport mode it’s ok. Someone mentioned complaints on the Toyota SUVs. I hope Toyota isn’t circling the drain. I’ve always stuck with the brand bc of reliability.

If you want a third row SUV, get you a Hyundai Palisade and enjoy the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty that comes with it. My wife has the ‘21 Calligraphy. It comes with all the bells and whistles you can want, again all covered with a 10 year /100,000 mile warranty.

I wouldn’t have said that, it’s the truth, but I wouldn’t have said that.

Go with a minivan.

Same same .

I’ve purchased my last three vehicles lightly used from Carmax (i know, i know) and one reason i like them is b/c i can search carmax dot com and find the exact options and trim levels i want from all over the country .. sorry, but if im spending $30k-$40k on something, im gonna be picky and i want EXACTLY what i want .. i typically find them far outside of Louisiana , buy a cheap one way plane ticket and drive them back home .. i love road trips so that’s an added bonus .. my current SUV i found in Colorado, i think the one way ticket only cost me like $200 to get there, the flying was by far the worst part of the whole process .

These are less functional and more expensive minivans. Just get an actual minivan.

Why not consider a Volkswagen Atlas?

Kia Telluride base $36.8K

I would get that brand new off the lot.

I see why there are so many on the road now

Anyone who buys any of those three cars deserves to be stuck on the side of the road several times during their ownership. Just do any fricking minimal amount of research and you’ll find that those vehicles are almost always mentioned by name as three of the worst cars that have ever been fricking made.

As a teenager and when I was in my 20s, I liked to work on cars a lot. Therefore, I now enjoy watching a lot of Mechanic videos online. Every Mechanic show that ever talks about those cars beg people not to buy them – except of course to fund the mechanic's vacation homes.

Seriously, just do a little research. You can start with watching videos made by the Car Wizard.
