At the company I used to work for, they once sent out an email about an update to their recruitment incentive program. They were offering specific recruitment bonuses depending on the ethnicity and gender of the hire. I don't recall the exact tiers, but they definitely had categories for black, hispanic, middle eastern, women, etc...all with varying levels of compensation.

I really wish I would have saved that email.

Do you know many women having babies every year? And most places don't offer paid leave for maternity, so they already aren't getting paid for their time away unless they had already accrued that much leave.

I don't think it even mattered. The company was enormous (300k+ employees) so you can imagine the ivory tower conversation that generated that policy.

Alabama just passed some type of equal pay law for women. I don't really know the details, but if they're getting raises that men aren't, seems like you could use a law like this to your favor

It's strictly for virtue signaling and marketing purposes. If a woman is really good at what she does, it won't take a "diversity outreach program" for her to find a job. As much as the media wants you to think otherwise, businesses aren't sexist if doing so would hurt the bottom line. No business worth a shite is going to turn down a potentially very productive and lucrative female employee simply because of her gender.

What these programs usually lead to is the hiring of completely unqualified workers that force the others to pick up the slack all in the name of diversity. And here's a secret...a lot of professional women don't like working with other women and the cattiness and competition it brings.

All big companies now, at least in oil and gas target women and minorities heavily.

Company i worked for, until i quit this past December, was huge in diversity, $17B company. Emails sent out weekly about it. Hired a Diveristy Leader, whatever the hell that is.
There were 4 regional managers in the US that all had a good 20 managers working under them. Those regional managers actually had monetary bonuses tied to hiring a certain number of female or minority managers each year.

My wife has been irritated with her job and i told her you need to start looking for a new job and don't worry about being qualified for it. Just find the right idiot that will hire you over the 10 other white males that will apply b/c you're a woman.
