Folgers is the worst decent coffee.
Starbucks then CC for decently affordability. CC is the better for price.

Folgers is duck camp coffee. In that it's cheap and shite, but we keep a costco size one at the camp and it does the job at the crack arse of dawn, usually with some Baileys in it.
Community is pretty good.
I will say the best "cheap coffee" is this. We grind the beans each batch. Just give it a try:

Depends on which roast you get. Breakfast roast is a medium roast, Dark roast has a nice, heavy flavor to it, and then there's the chicory variety which is indeed a tad bitter - but it's intended to be bitter. No reason to drink the chicory variety if you don't like it. There are plenty of CC options from which to choose.

I'm not some Starbucks advocate but I'll take a blonde roast with beans roasted in the last millennia over Maxwell House through a 40 year old Mr. Coffee like these ragamuffins drink

2. Buy coffee from a local roaster or from a grocery store that stocks them with an actual “roasted on” date a month or two old at the most.
3. Grind fresh and brew.
4. ???
5. Profit
Seriously tho, fresh ground fresh beans will make you wonder why you cheaped out on coffee for so long.

Go buy the most basic blend from any roaster in your town who roasted those beans within the last week, grind them fresh in a burr grinder and use a French press/chemex/aeropress/half decent drip maker
it'll be a coffee revelation unless your palate is just beyond hope

Publix bumped the price up again for the first time since the Covid hike went away. $10.42 for the small bag of Breakfast Blend. I paid it, but I noticed.

This. CC and Folgers are both not great. It's like asking whether Busch Lite or Natty Lite are better.
