My dogs growl and go to the door, but no barking unless we say "Who's there". They do like watching the dog channel, they actually sit up on the hind quarters and watch the tv above the fireplace from the sofa. Hi

Pets are such a prevalent part of so many people’s lives that using them in advertising further extends a brands emotional connection. Wow! So, the doorbell strategy is really quite smart, with such a huge number of households owning dogs.
Well this is a stupid strategy on the part of the advertisers. I have two little dogs that raise an obnoxious ruckus when they hear ANY sound that resembles a door bell or a door knock. I am willing to bet I have a subconscious negative reaction/connection to any product advertised during that shite storm of noise.
FYI my big dogs don't bat an eye - they just look at the other two like WTF

My dogs do the same thing!!!!

What's worse is radio commercials with alarm clocks or police sirens. I hate driving and thinking a cop is pulling me over because of some stupid ad.

My dogs go fricking nuts...and I ain't even got a fricking doorbell.. Seriously. Car horns blowing too and sometimes when other dogs on TV bark.

The only commercial that bothered my dog was the one with the dog barking "book" and she only barked back at it once. My dog is smart enough to know it's the tv.

Almost as bad as radio commercials with sirens

Radio ads with car horns blowing.

Hate those fricking things. My pups have been trained to ignore them, but my previous dog went nuts. And my cats run for the hills.
Swifter one really annoys me. And every episode of Frasier and Golden Girls has at least one.

Put me in the "hate doorbells in ads" camp.

My dog can't hear the tv from the backyard. No one getting woken up from naps in my house.

One of my dogs does start barking at doorbells during TV ads but it just gives me a little chuckle. Radio commercials with any type of alarming noises should 100% be banned. There have been a couple occasions when I'm driving and i haven't been sure if the sound was coming from a road hazard or the radio. It's fricking dangerous.

Yes....what was worse was during the Republican presidential debate, that damn bell they kept using was driving my dog nuts!

You have three choices:
-Get rid of your dog(s)
-Stop watching commercials
-STFU and deal because no one gives a shite about your opinion no matter how much you want them to

Whats worse is radio commercials with slamming car horns. Shouldn't be aloud IMO, make a motherfricker nervous
Those should absolutely be banned. It's obvious they do it to make you jump and get your attention. Shameless, terrible tactics.

The dogs I have now don't bark at them, but my dog in college went crazy when those commercials aired. The funny thing is, the whole time I had him I never lived somewhere with a working doorbell.
To add to that: The phone vibrate sound shows use.
Also, any station whose commercials are twice as loud as the shows they air. You could be watching a Micheal Bay movie and the Xarelto commercial is what ends up blowing your speakers.

Yes. My dog thinks they are real. Only thing that ever sets him off.

Yeah my chocolate lab used to HATE the "HOME ADVISOR" commercials...we actually thought of changing the chime on our door so it wouldn't sound the same.
She's mellowed though. She's realizing what's TV and what's real.
