there was a group of 5-6 moms, total weight had to be pushing 1,200, and that’s on the lighter in. One of them had a gallon ziplock full of the yellow Oreos going to town. Later, I seen a gentleman, 350+ eating a squeeze container of his young kids apple sauce. Half my immediate family is obese and it never gets brought up in conversation. It’s ignored these days. It’s disturbing.

It will come back to haunt them as their doctor asks that they come in every 90 days to check A1C.

Yes, Americans have genetics found in few places around the world. And it makes them fat.

They won’t, and then their health will deteriorate significantly and they will have to engage in dramatically more expensive and invasive health interventions.

All paid for by either the government or by our insurance plans.

saw a man - the fattest man I've even seen in my life - think 2-3 times the size of Fat Bastard. I kinda wanted to ask him what the hell he was consuming to get THAT fat - I also kinda wanted to take a pic with him. It was unreal how HIUGE this guy was - his gut just about was hanging down to his ankles.

There are two ends to life. A thin person lives 90 years and dies of dementia in memory care. A fat person dies much sooner when the heart or other organs tap out. Choose your path.

America is so fat it makes other sort of fat people think they are normal.

This thread is probably full of dudes that are 5'10 200, have a 36 inch waist and think they are skinny.

Yeah, people checking their phone because it's there. I'm terrible about it and I know it's messing up my sleep. We don't really watch TV in the bedroom anymore so I start to get pretty tired shortly after laying in bed, which is good.

I'm trying to change little habits here and there to improve my health, getting better sleep is one of them.

Gotcha. And yep, I am with you there. Started going to bed around 10 every night instead of midnight and waking up around 6 - 6:30 to get an hour of cardio in. So far, down 6 lbs after vacation, but I lose/gain pretty quick. Also have been using MyFitnessPal to count calories (has to be one of the GOAT apps out there). And I've started weighing myself once a week just to make sure what I am doing is not out of line. Trying to shave off about 25-30 lbs in the next few months, but this is mainly because I am tired of being chubby (I'm not morbidly obese or anything but I could stand to improve my health).

Projection. If you're going big, go big.

Your insecurity is showing.

I can assure you that, while I fit this OT statistic, I definitely don't think I am skinny

I don't know how this dude could fit inside a vehicle. I'm not sure I'd want to live life like that - in fact - I'm positive I wouldn't. I don't know how you even find clothes when you're that big. I wish I had a pic to share - it truly was a sight to behold. I bet the guy weighed 7-800 lbs.

well he is skinny and not muscular

This is a weird blanket statement to make, I knew many athletes including jumpers, soccer players, sprinters and swimmers, etc. who were 6' - 6'3" and under 180 lbs who were very muscular and in better shape than 99.999% of people on earth.

That might not appeal to your body composition preference and definition of muscular, which is fine by the way. I also believe strongly in resistance training and lifting.

But lets be real here, in America today it is much more likely that the average 6'2" 170 lb man is in better overall health than the average 6'2" 220 lb American.

I was definitely overweight before the pandemic hit. Went from 225 to 185 since then. Having a newborn that likes to sleep in the stroller helps a lot.

People’s perceptions on what constitutes being fat has changed through the decades and for the worse. A fat person in 1990 would be seen as normal today while a normal weighted person would be seen as skinny.

100%. I am 6’ and got up to 210 this winter. Everyone I knew told me the weight looked good on me, even though I was 25% body fat and knew I was a lard arse lol.

It kind of creates a positive feedback loop where more and more people around you are bigger than you and telling you you still look good. Next thing you know you’re 20+ pounds overweight.

And it’s only going to get worse with more and more models being “plus size” (which is downright fricking obese) and the body positivity movement telling everyone it’s ok to just completely let yourself go

The size you gave was very specific so I kind of figured.

No group hates fatties worse than ex fatties.
