Thankful I have an iPhone or I would have never caught it. Same thing with the Northern Lights.

It was shining bright tonight. It didn't have much of a tail, maybe because of how bright the hunters supermoon is tonight with no clouds in the sky.

Went outside town a bit to hopefully see it tonight. Finally did. Got this with my iPhone.

same here. Anybody that can help a brother out with a compass bearing (approximate of course) from the I-20 latitude or thereabouts?

You're going to have to do a little homework. You look due west just above the horizon. To the left is Venus and you will see it. From your Venus position turn your head 20 degrees to the right at the same level and find Arcturus (star). Midway between the two and up a bit over that line will be the comet. Venus is obvious. Arcturus is perhaps the brightest star to the right. Do it from 30 minute after sunset for about an hour. It then drops below the horizon. scan with binoculars and take iPhone pictures. iPhone will pick it up beyond what you can see.

Yeah the moon looked like the Great Pumpkin tonight.

I didn’t think about moonlight diminishing the comet’s visibility.

My old iPhone camera sucks so bad that I couldn’t even get a good pic of the giant orange ball reflecting on the water.

Thank you. I've been trying to see it through a spotting scope, not a phone.

I suspect I might be too late in my estimate of dusk.

That’s nothing compared to the comet we had in the late 90’s/early 00’s. It was almost as big as the moon.

I heard there was a ufo traveling in the tail of that one, picked up some people too.
