So does it just turn around after 40,000 years?

After about 350 skeeter bites, I was able to locate it with binoculars. Pretty cool.

Where you at baw? I’m looking for it. Skeeters are doing a number on me.

We can see it in Folsom it’s above and to the right of Venus. Hard to see ten minutes ago should be easier shortly.

Just viewed the comet a few minutes ago (7:45pm). Was able to see it only after using a nice pair of Nikon binoculars.

That’s nothing compared to the comet we had in the late 90’s/early 00’s. It was almost as big as the moon.

too much light pollution in BR

Naturally, the first clouds we’ve had in weeks is tonight.

Thanks for the tips on finding it. I appreciate it.
Could kind of see the trail with the naked eye to spot the location, then binoculars to see the comet itself.
Not clear enough to get pictures, but I can say I saw it.

My buddy Jeff in Breck got some great shots.
“ These are my udated "real" photos, that I took with my Nikon Z8, of the Comet C-2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) setting over the Breckenrdige Ski Area. The time was about 7:50 pm on 10/14/24. In the close-up photo of the comet you can actually see its anti-tail! The moonlight really helped the photo by illuminating the mountains and making the sky so nice and blue.”

That’s awesome. I’m glad other people got good pics. Even in the sticks where I am, there was enough haze to prevent a clear shot.

Went outside tonight to check it out. Couldn’t see shite. Then scanned the western sky with my phone and bam there it was.

I just saw it. I had clear skies but mid size town light pollution. It basically looked like a star with a barely visible haze. With a camera phone it looks like Tilco’s. In the country it would have been much better.
Cool, but I’m not sure it’s anywhere close to writing home about.

I didn’t realize how bright the moon was tonight. We have light pollution here but that moon is washing everything out. I’d love to see it with the naked eye.

Saw it faintly last night, couldn't find it tonight. I was at some fields with lights on, I'm sure that didn't help.
