More officers arrived on the scene. At one point, officers from Clear Creek, Idaho Springs, Georgetown Police, Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado Division of Gaming were on the scene.
Just how many cops does it take to help a guy?
btw-They're screaming "HE HAS A KNIFE!" while he's sitting in his car. With the door closed.
Who gives a frick if he has a knife? He didn't come flying out of the car with it. They use that as a reason to blow him away.
As said above-Cops are some of the dumbest fricks on the planet.
*This guy was scared to death of US cops due to what he sees on the news. And they proved his fears correct.

I can’t help but be skeptical. I thought he was in a serious car wreck? The cabin is completely intact. Chances of fatal injury are very slim.

Before passing judgement I would like to see the toxicology report from his blood stream. He sounds either mentally deficient or stoned on something. My gut says stoned.

Holy shite, the lives of all of those cops were obviously in serious danger.

Phew, well in that case thankfully they shot him to death while he was locked inside his own car.

So if he is one of the above it is all good to shoot him to death while he sits in his car?
Jesus frick...

No definitely not, but if he was stoned as shite he is not nearly as innocent as if he was randomly stuck on the side fo the road and confused.
The only thing a cop really worries about while on duty is getting home safe.

There are three logical explanations for escalating a benign situation to murder:
1. Individual blood lust;
2. Institutional culture of promoting killing; or
3. Mental retardation.

This makes no sense, unless you're arguing "Being stoned" is a rationalization for murdering him

sounds like they may have had the trifecta on this one

In that case, better shoot the paranoid high guy to make sure Officer Dipstick can go home to Braislynn and Maxtyn safe

I guess the question is did he really flip out and try to stab an officer or is that an exaggeration?

It's institutional. With that many cops on scene, you'd think at least one would see that de-escalation was the proper course of action. But that doesn't fit with the newly ingrained desire to play special forces operator, so the person probably kept to himself and deferred to the loud mouth psychos who dominated the scene.

This sure is an odd story but it definitely seems like the cops should have been able to resolve that situation without using deadly force.
