I just remember our coaches saying they shocked the indoor pool and we couldn't swim in it. Not sure if the chlorine could have hurt us but it would have been better than swimming outside.

How were the waves? Pretty awesome I bet, I hear it bombs there.

It was decent. Chest to head high and hollow. It can get really, really good there.

Watched Matt Fynn break all kinds of Packer records a couple years ago in Lambeau Field.
It was 12 degrees and snowing. He played football, I drank crown does that count?

I'm not participating in this game, but I will be at the Packers/Falcons MNF game on December 8th at Lambeau. Today I was walking in a Rouse's parking lot and as I shivered I thought to myself "December 8th, 2014 is when I die."

TIL that the OT considers watching a sporting event as a form of participation for said sporting event

Baseball scrimmage (not even a real game) in the high teens/low 20s with 15/20 mph winds. Baseball is not a cold weather sport. The bus we rode in barely had a barely functioning heater and it was an hour long ride. Split time with a JV player at 1st base. Everyone on the other team decided they would ground out, so that obviously sucked dick. Ended up hitting twice, seriously considered just not swinging. Common sense didn't prevail and my first at bat ended up with a bunch of foul balls and a ground out. Second at bat I said frick it and bunted/slapped at the ball to the pitcher. My experience wasn't bad compared to a kid on the other team who got hit in the hand by one of our pitchers who threw about 88-90 mph. I've played in other cold weather games but that one was just awful, and it didn't even count.

We would start "optional" workouts in early December. Coach would tell everyone they were a fringe player so they'd better show up, even if they were playing basketball

I've played a few soccer games around the freezing mark. Soccer is so fricking terrible when it's cold. You never loosen up, and kicking the ball is like kicking a cinder block.

Same here. This is the worst. This is why I played much more summer soccer league than the winter soccer league when I was younger

Numerous motocross races in the 20's. Had one race where it was so cold, we build a fire and put the bikes next to them to melt off the ice before we would start them.

Had a softball game last year that was 28 at the start of the game and sleeting. Freaking ump wouldn't call the game either.

Attended:
Calgary Stampeders vs Saskatchewan Roughridgers in 2010, -32 C (-26 F)

Frequently play hockey outdoors when it is below -20

Y'all are pansies when it comes to the cold

Water temps should be upper 60s and will probably be the warmest place on race morning.

Reminds me of the Half Ironman in Boise 2 years ago. People were clamoring to get into the water because it was warmer than outside. A few pros did the shortened bike course in their wetsuits.

Yeah, we've been joking about that for a couple days now. Don't know if I could bang out 56 miles in my wetsuit though.

In the winter of 1981, I was fishing with my father and 2 of my brothers at Bayou Pigeon. The temperature was in the 20's. I fell into the water but got out faster than I fell in. Fortunately, for me, it was late in the day and we had caught our limit. The ride back to the boat launch was a bit cold.

So I Take it you're taking the HTFU approach. No wavering on your decision?

High school football @ Mansfield, LA...rained for a week before and then it was 28 and sleeting the whole game...

we won and beat Mansfield on a blocked punt we recovered in the end zone....like 6-0 or 8-0 something like that.

Miserable night...I feel soaked and cold right now just thinking about that night.
