SFP could be on to something here when he said this could be the leak that brings down the Democratic campaign group dam.

it's one of those things where if there are issues, if people below roll on people above them, then the investigation will expand and it's hard not to communicate in ways that can be traced. the last thing you want is a legit federal investigation/prosecution because you can't control where that goes

*ETA: the entire Monica Lewinsky scandal started as an investigation into Whitewater, for example

HO LEE shite.

I just read the exchange with McKay from yesterday on facebook that led to all of this. Delgado said he would be heading straight to the AG's Office if he found out anything was amiss.

Would not doubt Delgato set them up by writing that check that way himself.
Sounds like a Gravy quote.

I don't remember that from the Bible.

I never thought I'd say this, but here goes:

God bless John Delgado. He is doing gods work with this situation.

Reading more on Facebook -

Delgado claims that he did write "contribution." He only denies writing "Senior PAC."

Well hell....it worked for Hillary with her e-mail server and top security lapses so why wouldn't it work here?

Hell....the Louisiana politicians have also turned their backs on this criminal activity and say everything is fine with the COA.

They'll convince some low-level underling to take the fall for this check. They need to be more worried now about the investigation that will come from this.

Should be easy for them to investigate...

The bank should have images of any checks sent to the PAC. The Feds can subpoena them and look for anything fishy along with confirming with the contributor whether the money was intended for the PAC or something else.

I have a feeling there will be a ton of $250 checks from that chef thing which ended up in the PAC account.

one of their biggest detractors

I don't know if I'd go that far. Delgado had a chance to vote against putting the tax on the ballot, but the shuffleboard crowd scared him from doing it. He's jumping on board against the COA now that there's blood in the water.

the limitations of the fraud charges are how "high" you can go. again, we just saw what it took to convict Corrine Brown (TWO of her underlings taking pleas to testify against her). fraud is individualized and the higher ups can always just claim ignorance and that it was a rogue subordinate (or 2)

so unless, for instance, Tarsha edited this check herself, they'll have to get the person who did to take a plea deal and then testify that they were ordered by her to do it. she will then have a defense that they're the one who did it and are just trying to save their own skin
