Certainly true. If you consider public universities to be government (which they are), pronoun usage is common and mandatory in many departments for employees in higher education. As was numerous hours of annual training to learn about all of the shite. You even get a rainbow sticker for your office door once complete.

Our policy advisors in DC tried to push this dumb shite. Everyone else just ignored them.

People putting He/Him? I don't get it, do they have long hair and are worried about being mistaken for a woman? Can they not just get a haircut now?

I've considered doing this just because everyone knows me well in enough to get it.

Also I work with a very competent female engineer who supports us offshore and yesterday she told me not to power off the wrong thing, at which point I asked her if she was woman-splaining. We both had a good laugh. I have no idea how anyone takes this seriously. It's like some look at me nonsense.

Yeah I've never seen this, and didn't know it was a thing (for signatures) before this thread.

This. And I will never, under any circumstances, bow down or abide by this "rule" in any setting. Not work, not some social event, nothing.

If the company I worked for ever became that progressive I would be miserable there anyway and just quit. But I'm a plant baw, thank God 99% of my co-workers are conservative and I'm pretty sure I will never have to worry about any of this bullshite.

He is married with kids. I understand what this means. But why is this necessary? Really, why are we at this point?

People struggled for meaning in a modern world as nihilism and fatalism grew. Social justice grew out of the void to give people that sense of purpose that they were fighting for something, and the human brain is really good at feeding dopamine receptors the minute you feel like you are accomplishing something. Positive feedback loops in society are everywhere as empathy allowed for this new toxic religion to grow, and now fast forward a few years, and we no longer know what it means to be a man or a woman, race relations have been set back 50 years, and the ideas crafted during the Enlightenment that led to the flourishing of the Western world are being dismantled.

That you are upset someone specified what to call them? I’m really not sure why it bothers you this much.

Is BAMF a pronoun? I'll gladly use that one.
