You have to design your reform in a way where the state makes money

Having thousands of ppl in jail for weed is costing us money so that makes no sense. Making some money on it is just a perk that comes with being one of the first to do it. Tourism would go up if LA did it today and we could tax the hell out of it because no state around us has it

the civil war outcome means states don't have the right to legalize marijuana.

the union says marijuana is illegal so that is the law of the land.

House Bill 1234 establishes regulations for the delivery of cannabis products from state-licensed retailers. Under the plan, deliveries are limited to one per day per household, and are only permitted in municipalities that explicitly allow for such activities. Deliveries to college campuses are prohibited.

Dumb. Encourages people to drive to the dispensary and back.

Wut? When you order a pizza for delivery you still drive to the restaurant?

while you are looking, you might want to re-read the 10th amendment

your problem in the south is that the large democratic base (blacks) are often times more socially conservative than white conservatives.

Black churches are not pushing for marijuana legalization. Until that happens the bible beaters on both sides will keep it illegal.

They really are the worst of the bootlickers. It's a freaking PLANT. There should be ZERO regulations on it. Increased sales tax revenue just means MORE gov't which inherently means less freedom.

which is incredibly ironic when you consider some of the primary reasons it was criminalized in the first place, and the incredible toll criminalization has taken on the black community in terms of incarceration rates and civil liberties

in a vacuum i agree with you, but we dont live in a vacuum. ethanol is an agricultural product as well, and its taxed and regulated. so is tobacco

the common sense solution is the same...allow home cultivation for personal use, and tax/regulate commercial activity

You can do whatever you want, as long as it's what we want too.

On the opposite side it's, we're tolerant of everyone, except if you disagree with us.

Both sides suck

I'm saying there is no left push for legalization in the south. The black churches dictate left policy in the south. I'm sorry you don't understand that.

Bible beaters on the right are a no go so who is going to champion the cause? Your stoner buddies don't even vote.

I feel the same. I don't want it legalized in order to increase government revenue.
