CNN sticking so far to their claim that the rescued hostages were released by hamas. Other news orgs including Fox have called them on the claim and have documented the event as a rescue costing at least one IDF life and numerous Gaza lives.
No change in CNN claims as of 4 AM June 19.

Reporting error or intentional misinfo?

Journalists are perhaps the only people slimier than lawyers or even politicians.

CNN has been caught lying and misrepresenting facts so many times it's a wonder anyone accepts any "news" they report(make up) as a reputable source. Its state sponsored media. We don't accept that here

Dead terrorists always release their hostages. 100%

They have to be dead though. Not wounded or in the process of dying.

It was interesting to hear a rescue mission referred to as a “ military raid “ with no further explanation as to how those hostages got there, all weekend. Were these just four Jewish shepherds who mistakenly crossed the border? Were they on a daring “ military raid “ themselves? Give me some context, oh dominant media culture Overlords.

The people working for CNN (And all other media outlets) are not Journalists.

And these outlets are not "News".

Haven't been for over a decade. They're propaganda machines. All of them.

I mean…it’s kind of true.

When the hostages starting leaving the compound/site where they were held captive, did the Hamas fighters stop them? Or did they let them continue leaving?

Sound like in the end, not one single kidnapper or soldier for Hamas tried to stop them from exiting.

The fact they may have been dead at that time…MINOR, insignificant detail.

Do you have a link? I’m not seeing that in there summary coverage or whatever they call it:

June 9, 2024 Israel-Hamas war

Maybe they’ve removed it since yesterday.

When you are surrounded by the IDF and aren't willing to kill the hostages, you either "release" them through letting them go as you are taken into custody or due to being dead.

New story (no idea why they wouldn't update their primary story, unless there's some sort of info war going on internally or they just want to throw as much shite against a wall to see what sticks)

quote:

Three hostages rescued during a deadly Israeli military operation on the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza were held captive by a journalist, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) alleged Sunday, without providing evidence to support their claim.

In a statement, the IDF claimed freed hostages Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv were held by journalist Abdallah Aljamal and his family members at their home in the central Gaza camp.

quote:

The IDF statement claimed Aljamal was a Hamas operative and a journalist for Al Jazeera.

The allegations come a month after Israel expelled the Qatar-based network from the country under a new wartime law that allows the Israeli government to ban foreign media it deems harmful to its security.

Al Jamal wasn’t a journo for AJ, he worked for a US based pro Palestine media entity - which is probably even worse.

IDF providing no evidence is such a petty and pathetic comment for CNN - considering the evidence is all over Twitter and the internet. Far be it from CNN to spend 15 minutes verifying the obvious - they intentionally decline to do so to avoid having to give credibility to a story they don’t want to deal with.

CNN really running with the hostage rescue as a massacre angle as well.

Pretty sad that some of these American news outlets are just taking "facts" from terrorists at face value.

Also easy way to prevent this massacre. Release the hostages, surrender or do something as easy as not having them in neighborhoods

Geez, dude. I saw the title of this thread and thought Hamas had thrown in the towel and released all of the hostages.

BBC journalist literally asked if Israel gave the civilians a head up before the rescue operation

They're running interference for the "journalist" who was holding one of the hostages in his home.
