These projections are actually coming from policylab at children’s hospital of Philadelphia and everyone’s favorite, the IHME models.
Not saying the models are exactly correct because they rarely are but it’s certainly a concerning growing consensus.

All of these responses and none of yall have hit on the most relevant info -- Fla's population is 1 million bigger than NY..Florida's peak case day is 2,783 - 7 day average is around 2,200....perspective NY which is 1 million smaller had a peak day of 11,571 and averaged over 7k a DAY for a month -- averaged well over 4k a day for 6 weeks...actual average was 7.5k for that period -- NY never reached any capacity
