re: Club La Vela back in the day

Only La Vela story i'll put in writing...
Group of 4 guys, one of my friends meets a girl and she takes her back to her hotel which wasn't on the strip. He was nowhere to be found and his cell phone was dead (this was roughly 2002is).
Anyway we get a call from a random number several hours later(this was pre-smart phone) and dude is out of breath telling us hes at a payphone a few miles up the road. Turns out the dude rode back with her, did the dirty, passed out. He wakes up in her bed middle of night and she had gotten in the shower. He ransacks the room, steals a few grand in cash plus bottles of shitty booze and runs out.
Anyway we jump in the jeep and head in direction of said phone call and find him literally running down side of the road with a paper bag in hand and trying to pull up his pants that were still unbutton.
Truly a site i'll never forget

We were almost kicked out by night 2 of spring break. Our unit (218) was party central for about 5 Cobb County schools and was packed like a bar. The sliding door to the porch was always open with people on it and every time people would come in the front door the wind vacuum would slam it shut. We invented a drinking game we called 218 that week and by the end of the week, people down on the pool deck would chant 218! 218! 218! up to the people on the porch. It was a crazy week.

My cousin and his dealer friend went there one time. Went in the back rooms and sold couple thousand tabs to the big wigs there

yeah totally made up, frick off.
every trip I went down there I had a grand cash on me minimum, as you diddnt really run up tabs at bars on spring break and you needed to make other purchases off the books.
the hotel was condo-style where there were multiple rooms, others were there and sleeping.
He died from overdose a few years later if that helps you out.

I was there back in 90s. It was overrated, next door joint was more fun. Spinnakers r whatever it was called.

My very colorful uncle lived in PCB and we used to go visit him during spring break when I was in middle and high school. My best La Vela story was my uncle's girlfriend took my little sisters (who were in middle school) and mom out to grab pizza from a restaurant on the strip. There was a couple banging on top of a 4 wheeler that was on the bed of a truck in La Vela's parking lot. My sister's both were traumatized.

Doesn't sound like my type of crowd I would have been running with back in the gap.. Sounds like a POS to me. Stealing from a gal that just offered him sex. Dudes in the pool til their boners go away...
I can't count the number of boobs I saw at the place. The wet t-shirt and bikini contests always resulted in freeing of the mammaries. And just randomly from chicks on the dance floor it was wild.
Had two people banging in the pool in front of everyone, like wild dogs, and they weren't going to stop until they were done, security be damned.
Saw some awesome bands there, I think you could see like 6 bands in one night.
One morning, after a night out... we left our condo to get breakfast and I asked my friend where he parked the car... he was like dude... you drove. Ah... the good old days.
