Nope. Try again.

While many can be serious PIAs, most often they are quite knowledgeable.

Question: “highly regulated industry”

Does it deal with vertical construction or construction in the civil sense? Or, is it industrial in nature (ie plant work)?

Btw, code enforcement has nothing to do with them being “libs”. It has everything with them being egotistical and high on control much of the time. Why are you politicizing the topic?

This Tweeter person is likely a straight criminal on the take. Nothing more, nothing less. A simple criminal.

I think Privateer is saying that it’s alarming that folks can’t build a building in the middle of downtown that doesn’t fall down without this chick showing up once or twice a week to have a look-see.

This is a problem for a lot city and parish inspectors. So many sites are not getting inspected properly. This is why flooding etc happens when there is new construction too. Drainage and ponds were not done properly.

Pharmaceutical and have been in EPA regulated.

I wholeheartedly agree necessary regulations are necessary.
There should be required testing, engineering controls and the like.
However, often these are set by folks who have no clue what they're doing.
shite just keeps getting added. And ultimately nothing gets honestly done/checked.
Keep regulatory processes simple, necessary. Evaluate periodically for necessity. A simplified regulatory environment is best as it's more likely they'll be actual compliance.

Was stopped at her house for two hours. Let’s add in the transit time and I bet that’s a three plus hour lunch. Love them municipal workers who need OT to get their jobs done.

Permits and Inspectors offices will tell you they don’t have a big enough budget or enough people too.

I’m glad they are uncovering this scummy shite and I hope they throw the book at Julie Tweeter.

Exactly what would she have found at the time that would have led her to NOT sign off on the permit for that day?
Not asking for a political answer, but want an engineering answer.
Would she have seen a lack of beams or rebar or whatever has been listed as the cause of the collapse?

Yes

You didn’t even need to read the linked article. All you had to do was read the quoted parts.
