Please tell me you're joking. If aliens dropped you a message would you be able to interpret their language? I weep for humanity sometimes.

Do you understand the English language? Specifically the word pictogram?

Yes. Please tell me how they are going to interpret what pictures mean? It would look like hieroglyphics to them.

it was wrong then and it is wrong now. If we do not want people crossing our borders without permission why is it ok for us to cross theirs when we are unwanted? because jesus?

If they can kill people crossing their borders does that mean we can mow down the ones crossing ours?

I'd rather they didn't but that is a little bit much to expect from a pre neolithic tribe on an isolated island.

You can call them inbred savages. They can’t read this to be offended.

Think about it... Every act of procreation is also incest. That leads to a good bit of malformations.

You are overstating it by a good bit.

160 starting individuals (humans) can comfortably sustain for around 20 generations without really any deleterious effects of inbreeding to become apparent.

And even if one or two people from the outside joins up in that 400-500 year period, that has a dramatic effect on rolling back that limit.

Nah. They have been on the same island for 55000 years with little outside contact. They never migrated and never had to learn new ways to survive. I'm not going to view them as less than human because they did not have access to 50000 years of accumulated human knowledge like I did

Well the word savage doesn’t suggest less than human but if you want to use the term “pre Neolithic” because it makes you feel more civilized be my guest.

It's crazy how far we have come to where we ridicule someone who is acting as a missionary. This guy didn't seem to put much planning into it or have the backing of any large missions organization, but I get his motivation.

If you believe that these people are in need of the grace of Christ, and based on the history of this people group (group orgies, murdering outsiders) they are, then he is doing what Christ called him to in the great commission. Maybe he should have been more discerning in his approach.

Jim Elliot is an inspiring story about a missionary who gave his life reaching a dangerous people group in Ecuador in the 1950s. He and others paid with their lives, but eventually his wife and children reached those people. If you believe Christ is who he said He was, then Elliot's courage and sacrifice resulted in people finding salvation.

Indeed.

It's worth noting though that the reason this group is even saying anything at all is so that they can get in the news. This whole "raising awareness" about a cause is more about raising awareness about some group that would like donations.

What’s wrong with a group orgy? Assuming the ratio is correct, of course.

Oh of that I’m sure but they’re not the first and certainly won’t be the last. Ethical? Hmmmm... but I think people going to recover the body could bring disease there and it could end where they put the islanders in a situation to defend themselves. Their weapons aren’t nearly advanced as what we would bring.

I honestly can't think of anything more egotistical than traveling to a different civilization who is otherwise (assumably) satisfied with their way of life to convince them that your way of thinking is superior to theirs.

Honest question. Outside of religions, armies during war and pyramid schemes are there any organizations in human history where one of their core tenants is to bring absolutely everyone possible into the organization?
