Cities that look terrible judging from what you see passing through on the interstate

The view of Lake Charles from interstate 10 was always pretty bad. It’s a combination of industry, a graffiti covered abandoned casino parking deck and shanty houses. Unfortunately all the shanty houses now include blue roofs from the storms.

Continuing west, Beaumont, Texas isn’t much better.

If you can see lake Charles from i20, your eyes are amazing.

Interstates don’t run thru the nicer parts of most towns

Lafayette has to be the weirdest 100k population city in the country. You don’t see a single tall building downtown from I-10.

The parts of Lafayette near I-10 are the worst parts.

You can’t really see downtown Jackson from interstate 20. I think the downtown area is actually pretty nice looking, but maybe that is because there isn’t an interstate running through it.

Birmingham looks pretty nice as you top the hill on interstate 20 heading east.

Always thought entering the tunnel going east that Mobile had a good view on interstate 10.

Atlanta and Dallas also have pretty impressive views of the skyline from the interstate.

Birmingham, AL looks terrible from 20E/59N until you get to I-65.

I disagree, I always enjoy pointing out the capital building and Tiger Stadium to people traveling with me as we go over the bridge. Now if they could do something about algae lake....

Always has annoyed me about going to Lafayette. Takes 15 minutes just to get somewhere once you are off 10
