Circumcision is the best choice.
- eliminates risk for penile cancer
- significantly reduces cleaning requirements - if you don’t cut, have fun cleaning in your boy’s penis til he’s old enough to do it
- far less rates of other skin conditions etc from not cleaning
- most men still have more than enough sensitivity, rates of premature ejaculation would be off the charts if there were less cut men
- it looks gross and there’s no women that have a preference against cut men, but there are tons of women who have a preference for cut men
- it has a long term history of success as a procedure with extremely low rates of abnormalities
- it’s a lot worse to do when he’s older, and he won’t miss it if it’s gone
- most of the men in the thread clamoring for an uncut penis have something wrong with them

It's so weird this day and age we are having this conversation.

My sons will not have their genitals mutilated for any reason.

Most of the world does not participate in this barbaric practice and as long as they shower and clean their cock once a day there is zero medical benefit.

Yay for circumcision. He'll thank you everytime he gets naked with a girl.

I also laugh at the term “mutilate”. It’s incredibly over dramatic in this context.

Maybe you should improve your vocabulary.

"Male genital mutilation (MGM) is any permanent modification of the external genitalia that involves the ablation of tissue"

Maybe you should take a midol and come up with another means to express your late-stage adolescent rebellion against authority that won't impact another beyond yourself.

LOL. Imagine being this emotionally invested into cutting penises.

How often do you hang out with the trans community?

Not invested beyond commenting on your very dramatic posts and laughing at someone who is hyperventilating and thinks it's "mutilation." How many "mutilations" lead to decreased cancer risks, decreased chances for STDs and decreased UTIs? Sounds like a modification that creates an improvement.

I looked at it like this. I didn’t like the fact it’s just so commonplace and makes a decision for your son that they may would have wanted done differently. But also, I didn’t want my kids running off into this world with a weird anteater dingus.

Ah yes. Confirmation bias. We oppose cosmetic surgery on newborns. Therefore we must be uncut.

In my case: untrue.

You really gotta dig for reasons to legitimize this procedure. It generally boils down to "it's always the way it's been done." "My deddy didit"

Should we examine our newborn girls and give them a nip/tuck if needed?

Probably 99 percent of the things you do on a daily basis are for this exact reason.

Cultural norms have immense value. To pretend they don't is naive.

It was culturally normal for Americans to own slaves.

Circumcision is a religious practice. Ok. But wasn't it the jews? Why are Christians doing it?

Cultural norms that involve cutting skin off your genitals should be reserved for Amazon savages, not the civilized western world.
