Cigarette Smoking Makes Comeback During Coronavirus Pandemic

Executives at Marlboro maker Altria Group Inc. pointed to the trends Tuesday and said they have been significant enough to slow the yearslong decline in U.S. cigarette sales. Altria now expects U.S. cigarette unit sales to fall by 2% to 3.5% this year compared with its previous projection of a 4%-to-6% decline.
Pandemic lockdowns have meant fewer social outings and more time to smoke at home, Altria Chief Executive Billy Gifford said. Though unemployment rates are high, stimulus checks and increased unemployment benefits have helped ease the financial hardship for low- and middle-income cigarette smokers, he added. Adult cigarette smokers are making fewer trips to the store, but they are stocking up on packs when they do go.

Yeah, I fell off the wagon two weeks ago. I haven't had any since. I felt like shite the next day. I was drinking, so I smoked a ton that night.

People aren’t going to offices where they have to at least walk out to the street to smoke. Now they can smoke while they work again without bothering anybody.

I picked up a pack a couple weeks ago and will have a burner or two when I’m drinking. I still have half of the pack left as of right now.
I’ve said this from the beginning in regards to the whole coronavirus situation. The cure will be worse than the disease.

Not for me
Every one of my friends growing up started smoking in the 90s. Id say 8 out of 10 were Marlboro reds. One started at 10. And I'd try them every once in a while, just to see what all the hype was, but never found anything positive about them. Plus, I didn't want to pay for them since I viewed them as useless.
On the other hand, I was smoking pot at 10. I got a kick out of that shite.. I just never would follow up the bowl or joint with a cigarette as they would. Those were the days when youd be hitting the joint and a seed would pop, and youd give your friend a go to hell look for being a lazy motherfricker
