I live in probably the most liberal part of Kentucky.

While I don’t disagree that there’s issue with extremists, I’ve never once heard someone complain about Christmas lights in this fashion.

Plenty of loons out there that doesn’t represent even close to the majority. Probably best to stop giving them attention.

Exactly. Someone came up with this BS and I am sure a few followed along. This will be nothing. It’s why I said quit giving it attention. Live, Laugh, Love is what I say.

Another user pointed out the irony that the letter writer is "doing exactly what they accuse the homeowner of doing- not being accepting of others."

This is what they want. 100%. And this is what most rational people saw coming months ago when people started catering to the emotions and "needs/wants" of these people. It's the whole "give them an inch and they want a mile" come to fruition. You have this and I don't, so now you can't have it anymore. I keep hoping rational Americans will start standing up to bullshite like this, but so far it's been few and far between.

Outlets like Fox, CNN and the various internet rags make millions of dollars digging up random stories to incite their base into sharing, liking and clicking/viewing ads. Social media then leeches off the beast.

But if people want to feed that matrix, it’s a free country.

This is not a thing liberals or progressives give a damn about. This is a neighbor being an a-hole, which isn't exclusive to any particular group

Sorry but you are wrong. Neighbors didn't have the backing of their government 30 years ago to bash Christmas and personal responsibility. Now they not only support it, but commit fraud and major crimes to make sure it continues.

is it? because it appears the vast majority of people find it to be ridiculous

and its most likely a troll

The vast majority disagree with all of this shite. The small minority always get their way over the vast majority. Look at prayer in schools. You had 1 atheist (exaggerating) in a school of 500 who was "offended" and suddenly there is no more prayer in schools. You had the politician's son yesterday who was mortified because someone wished him a Merry Christmas. Every TV commercial or radio station now has to say Happy Holidays. It's ridiculous. And yeah, this may be a troll by the neighbor. But it's a helluva troll because it falls right in line with the rest of the bullshite going on.

I don’t recall anybody sending Mr. T a similar letter chastising him for all of the gold chains he wore around his neck and how most of white America could not afford that.

"The idea of twinkling, colorful lights are a reminder of divisions that continue to run through our society, a reminder of systemic biases against our neighbors who don't celebrate Christmas or who can't afford to put up lights of their own," the letter, shared by Crime Watch Minneapolis, reads. "We must do work of educating ourselves about the harmful impact an outward facing display like yours can have."
Mind your own damn business.
