Blame the lack of quality pay not quality employees. These businesses pay a part-time rate and expect their employees to bend over backwards.

It’s because stores will bend over backwards to appease confrontational employees.
The managers should be polite at first but after that, they should just tell them sorry and they are just going to have to deal with whatever the problem is.
There is a point pushing an issue sometimes but when a customer goes past the voice level and attitude level, that’s when a manager no longer should have to be nice or even address the issue anymore

Unfortunately, retail stores have trained the beta bully Karen's that they can go ham anytime they want to and they will only get profusely apologized to. In the good old days, a raving psychotic would get forcibly removed and banned from the store, bystanders would laugh at them, and their family and friends would shame them into correcting that behavior. If that didn't correct it, then a couple of rough knuckle cops would handle it in an alley behind a store. Let's go back to the old ways.

Christmas is when retailers make all their profit. I enjoyed it because the hours went by faster when you’re busy.
