A lot of people commenting without watching the video. The child lives with her mother and appears to have a possible mental disability. The father looks loving and capable. The mother is the one who should be jailed.

shite y'all not, but our son as a young child used to sleep walk. Even after having one of those chain things install way up high on the door and even blocking the door, we found him outside a couple times. Talk about scare the living crap out of us. We even installed bells, loud ones. That went on for about a year till he out grown it. Was a night mare. He was about 4 years old at the time.

Now a 8 years old in diapers? WTF? Hope the child is not mentally ill.

Could this be a child from the women caught shoplifting $5k in clothing? NVM they said dad.

Video took too long to reload but I think it said that the girl stays with her mom in Monroe and the dad lives
away.

I think the dad was called because mom could not be located and dad still had a lot of questions?????

And yes, the poor girl will now get picked on in school for wearing diapers. Did they really have to show her face on tv?

Why would a parent release this video footage/photo? Why make yourself look worse?

And I've never heard of a South Six Street.

Why is it surprising that they called the child’s dad? I’d want to know if my 8 year old was wandering around in a diaper

I would sleep walk. My dad told me once I walked by him as he watched tv in the living room. Told him i'm going to a friends house. I was dressed too. I walked out. He followed me. I walked to the end of the block, and came back home. Walked to my room. He came in a few mins later, and I was asleep in bed. Ha.

I’ll withhold judgement. I would imagine the child has some type of mental or physical issues. Cut the Dad some slack without knowing more

Southside neighborhood near Riverbend. Tough area, definitely not a great place for a young child to be wandering alone at that time of the night.

The child has special needs, hence the diapers

7th street is one of the main streets in WM, but you’ve never heard of 6th? As someone said above, it’s a shady neighborhoood. Not Burg Jones shady, but not somewhere a kid should be walking around alone at any time.

Highly doubt this is the case

My sister had uncontrollable bladder issues up until 7th or 8th grade. This is actually a common problem.

The article didn't say Sixth Street. It said Six Street.

I ate a salad at Chic-fil-A in West Monroe Wednesday. It's right down the street from a hospital. Wow!
