I know the family very well and you’re right about Robert’s health. I was good friends with his youngest daughter and spent countless nights eating BBQ West.

It's just a better quality Taco Bell. Essentially the same items, just better quality ingredients. For instance the grated cheese is quite obviously freshly grated each day, for that day. Ground beef obviously being a prominent ingredient in a Mexican fast food joint, Bandito's ground beef is very noticeably better quality and taste than Bell.

I don't know why their name is slipping my mind, but I believe the original owners of Podnuh's were the same family that started Daqs. Same ones you're talking about?

Been in West Monroe maybe 10ish years, perhaps a little longer, but the original (still open) location on Forsythe in Monroe has been there at least 30 years I'd say. They do a pretty good business, no doubt. It's Taco Bell but with distinctly better quality ingredients. My go to's there are the beef and bean burrito and chicken soft taco. Very good stuff.

Johnny Hopper. His son, Jay, owns Daqs and the new fish and chicken place in Front of Super One.

Yeah the Hoppers have upstarted some good restaurants. Never seemed to over-expand. Made great business decisions it appears. Hell Daqs is great too. My favorite wings for sure.

My mom is really good friends with them. When they got their black lab for the kids for Christmas a few years ago we kept her at our house for a couple weeks so they could keep it a surprise.

Did Jeff sell it?
As far as the original question, yes closed for Juneteenth. The cafeteria is closed today and tomorrow at Glenwood hospital for the same reason.

Speaking of Ruston, I have lamented the fact that they've never opened a location there. Leave it at that, just 3, which is surely manageable. Seems like a Bandito would kick serious arse in Ruston. You know how they like their Mexican food there. I don't know why I'm saying "there". "Here" is most accurate.
