Both the Church's Fried Chicken and the Popeye's Fried Chicken are closed. I am wondering if it is a chicken shortage, worker shortage, or celebrating Juneteenth.

This is honestly a good thing. Too many fatties up in Monroe anyway.

Church’s has been closing all over—especially the ones connected to a store. I know of locations permanently closed in Watson and St. Francisville in recent days. Seems like I’ve seen others.

Go to BBQ West and get brisket and pecan pie. Better than fried chicken anyway and the people are nice.

Had it earlier in the week. While it is not as good as when the original ownership owned it, it is still very good.

This Chicken place is open ... for now. Sometimes this place experiences a hamster shortage.

Could be both, but the worker issue is still a major issue all over the country

What about Chicken Express on Cypress?
Subtle "I'm familiar with West Monroe" brag.

Been like this at Whataburger for three or four weeks now.

Don't they have a Southern Classic in Monroe? Way better than Churchs or Popeyes.

Yes they do but it is in Monroe on the southside.
I was there earlier in the week to buy lunch for my associates at work. While at the drive through I spoke with a gentleman that was at the walk up window. Guessing he was in his sixties. We had a pleasant conversation. When he turned to walk to his car I saw that he was open carrying.
I am sure he feels the need for it on that side of town.

Popeyes in Monroe was closed last night for one of my Door Dash pickups for some reason. Otherwise, I've been hauling chicken all over the twin cities the past few days.
