U.S. car brands slipped in annual reliability rankings published by Consumer Reports, while Lexus and Toyota dominated once again. All domestic automakers finished in the bottom half of the list. Ford was the top-ranked American brand at No. 18, down three slots compared to last year. The Blue Oval was immediately followed by General Motors’ Buick, which fell out of the top 10. GM’s Chevrolet and Cadillac, and Fiat Chrysler’s Jeep, Chrysler and Ram also lost ground. Tesla, the upstart electric-car maker, fell six places to 27th.

Chevy just won a J.D. Powah Award for being the 23rd most reliable brand in Consumer Reports annual reliability rankings.

CR is supposed to be unbiased. I’ve always thought that was bs.

Not sure how Buick could drop 9 places from year to year when most of its models probably have not changed much, same goes with all the others

You're kidding, right?

KIA and Hyundai have been top 5/10 for several years running. I own 2, and they are solid vehicles. My 3rd vehicle is a Jeep Patriot, and it's a cheap pile of crap, although the engine is outstanding (209K miles on a 2012).

Mrs. Füt's vehicles have been Lexus brand since 2006.

No pics of either her or the vehicles.

There are no pics possible of any of them letting her down.

Also, I only get her vehicles actually built in Japan.

Major QC issues and customer backlash. By the companies own admission they have fallen behind and need to get the ship righted. Reliability has been an issue for 5 years or more.

Man, I know Kia is a “value brand” here in the States, like Hyundai was. Having lived in Korea, I can tell you that Kia makes decent cars. They also make a lot of big busses and trucks over there.... they really are not a bad vehicle. I know that they cater (like Mitsubishi) to the sub-prime market over here, but I expect Kia will move up their game to the more successful end of the middle class bracket pretty soon.

Just got the wife an XC60.

There are three separate rattles in that car after about 4500 miles.
