I used to plan my entire weekend around football on Fall Saturdays.

I missed the 1st 3 quarters yesterday due to ,y girlfriend wanting me to meet her friends husband while he was in town.

The investment paid off.

No longer but I remember being a kid and it would wreck my week.

I've learned to just let it go especially now with NIL and constant transfers. It's just not the same anymore. No loyalty to the program. Just a big money grab by players, coaches and schools.

It isn’t what it used to be because we all know the national champions will be the University of NIL, the fighting Portals.

Les Miles broke my spirit.
I doubt I ever regain the pre Miles passion.

It’s just a football game.

The only time I got upset this weekend was as when I was looking for the game on tv at 7:30 on Saturday only to discover it was actually on Sunday. Went to a Labor Day party on Sunday and enjoyed fireworks with the kids on Sunday instead of watching the same ole tired product on the field.

You reach an age where a game played by boys don’t impact your life. It is a freeing to say the least.

Watching FSU struggle against BC is helping.

First lsu football game without my dad. Listened to a couple old voicemails from him years ago Son quit moping and drinking whiskey they are just a bunch of spoiled $&$&&&& now days don’t take it so seriously

He was right . Istarted to get it then I get it now. My 5 year old fell asleep mid 3rd qtr.
woke at 6:20 this morning - tapping me daddy did LSU win like u said they would

Me… no son they lost
He was sad and pissed I’ve done my job
May sound lame but let’s be real true Tiger fans understand .

I was 29 the last time I got truly pissed about the results of an A&M game. Watched my Aggies Saturday and didn’t give it much thought after the loss. Watched LSU last night and just this moment realized FSU/BC are playing. Our oldest is a sophomore in college and I just don’t get into it as much without him around anymore.

High of 80 here in Missouri today and I enjoyed a round of golf. Didn’t think of that cluster once.

I caught red snapper in Florida yesterday and today.

Not a thing was ruined.

My passion is waning, but I wish it wasn’t. I used to live for Saturdays in the Fall. I need something to be passionate about in life, otherwise my loneliness will skyrocket and I’ll start to question my purpose. I need Fall Saturdays to be part of the routine that gets me going.

As a 31 year old, I have way more important things going on in my life: my family/friends, my job, my dog, trying to pay for everything, trying to see the world, and not dying. Maybe up until I was 22, when I had little to no responsibilities, all I gave a shite about was LSU football/sports.

Yeah seeing them lose sucks, but I never let them, or any other sports team dictate how I feel.

2019 sort of cured me of this.

It’s like, we did it. We beat the game. And I was fortunate enough to see it happen in person.

Can’t ask for much more.
