neighbor to my left and I get along great, we tend to help each other out and loan tools if one of us needs something. We tend to go shoot guns a lot, and have a few cookouts during the summer. Neighbor to my right is a nice guy, and rents the house from the neighbor that was there when we moved in. He never cut his grass, and would just come over uninvited, but the guy renting his house keeps the yard mowed and is pleasant. If they are having a BBQ, he lets us know and never any noise and they are typically done by 10 pm. I helped him fix a leaking sprinkler head, and he smoked a boston butt for me as payment which was not required. Across the street I don't really talk to them that much, but there are never any issues. The guy on the corner is a nice guy and we talk about hunting quite a bit, he did have a pool party last summer that got a little out of hand with people fighting in the front yard, but hell I sat on the front porch with a beer and watched the free entertainment.

They must also post here and know your screen name.

I love my inlaws.....but they would drive me crazy if they lived next door to me. Except my sister in law....she is awesome and would be a great neighbor.

The old lady next door to me died last weekend. I only saw her twice in the year and a half I've lived here. Both times were when she yelled at me to be more respectful. (For letting my grass trimmings get on her driveway, even though I was still mowing and hadn't even edged or blown yet.) She wasn't awful because she mostly kept to herself and never made noise. I hope no one awful moves in.

The rest are awesome. One old nosy couple who tells me whenever anything strange in the neighborhood is going on, a couple the same age as me and my wife who likes to drink with us, and a nice guy across the street who is always eager to help with any type of chore or home repair. He even gave me one of these last week for my dog: LINK

ha ! my mother in law is 84 years old and has a flip phone. I've just never had that typical "in-laws" relationship with them. now the sisters in law can go piss up a rope.

Good neighbors here. I live in a cul-de-sac and the other 4 families are all pleasant.

I know...its just that the cop's house is directly across the street so I have to see it when I walk out my front door everyday

Some cops work a lot of hours. Does yours not have some kind of SO to cut the grass and fix the kid a meal?

Neighbors on one side are Black Torch Tattoo artists who don't talk much.

On the other side is a kinda cute super sweet Asian chick who dates a big white dude who's not there often(yeaaaa buddy one day).

And
Next to her is LL(and occasionally Jonesie). /thread.

None of my neighbors are loud, obnoxious, or nosy... and they all take care of their houses, so no real complaints here. I'm not friends with any of them, but I also haven't lived here long.

Within 500' feet of me I have an AC/Electrician man, a computer repair man, a mechanic and a welder, I'm the woodworker/carpenter/oyster shucker/cook. Everyone keeps their yard up and we have curbside chit chats often. No problems with any of my neighbors except one ole grumpy man who sprayed my dog with the hose when my dog got loose the other day, good thing he's a retired engineer and not a cop.

I've never even said, "Hello" to them. I think they're great.

My neighbors are great. They lowered their basketball goals so my kids can play. I bring them fresh fish. They let me pick from their gardens. It's nice living among good citizens.

I don't understand this. If you are living somewhere long term, why would you not want to at least know the people you live next to somewhat?

Best neighbors I ever had were in Baton Rouge in Sherwood Forest neighborhood. My wife and I bought a house surrounded by old people. Best thing is that they are home all day and watch for burglars like a hawk. We only had a house on 1 side of us and they were the nicest old folks in the world. I'd get drunk and come home and they'd laugh. They even drove to Florida for our wedding.

I agree. Been at our quaint condo complex for 2 years now and I at least like to know who to expect at the units, vehicles, etc. I hope they do the same for us, like an implied Neighborhood Watch.

And A simple "hello" or wave when passing goes a long way if someone sees an unfamiliar car in your spot or person at your door.

Quiet, stay to themselves neighbor behind me. Lady to the right of me is like a sweet Aunt and a wonderful person. To my left are new neighbor's and very friendly - hosting a crawfish boil in 3 weeks! Across the street in front of me is a great neighbor, very caring, and likes to help on any home profess. Great group to be around! I am lucky and I often will edge their yards or cut one's grass if they are out if town.

Neighbors directly next door are nice, quiet and retired, rarely outside. House on other side is empty and trying to be sold. No problems here.
